****Official Project CARS thread****

Looking forward to trying this game, but for those playing it on PS4/Xbone on controller what's the force feedback like? I really liked how forza used the trigger force feedback and I missed that on drive club, do you get similar control on this?

I would just buy a wheel but after selling my fanatec setup after realising it wasn't compatible with ps4/xbone I don't want to go through that again!

I'm staying away from online with random players. Way too many ********* who want to ram you off if you dare race clean.

Wee heads up

The devs have acknowledged the x1 controls are broken and have already fixed it with a patch. Its just waiting for the green light to be made available. Hopefully the game will now be playable on pad

What's the damage like in this game ?

Funny you should ask, as I've just turned damage to 'performance affecting' & 'full damage' and given to controller to my son to do his worst... apart from the panels coming off, and some scrapes, the car is totally unaffected

It seems the cars are indestructible, unless I'm missing something in the settings... mech failures are on too.

I'm starting to think this game (and it is a game, not a sim) is not all it was cracked up to be

edit... It seems the damage only works on the tracks not the roadways  ... my son was playing on Azure Coast ramming everything in sight. I've just broken the car at Bathust, though the the crash would have ripped the wheels off, but I just made the bonnet loose :D

So the cars do crumple and stuff then ? That's good to know , it's nice to see the after effects if you've been in a real battle of a race scraping other etc :)

I've seen wheels come off and my engine blew at Azure Coast after ramming too many road signs. That lost me 2nd place :( Windscreens will crack and your bonnet can buckle up and block your view which makes it somewhat interesting!

I'll have to check the set-up again then... my son even won (AI @ 20) bouncing of the walls and barriers :D The wheels certainly should have come off, so something clearly amiss here.

At least yours went after some damage, twice mine has failed when I've been putting in a really good time. At least it's realistic I guess! :D

Just started this today, have to say I'm impressed so far. Witnessed a few bugs at the start of races but nothing that's affected me much. Came second in the uk kart championship and won the kart one championship.

Using a ds4 on pro settings and 80 ai, not tweaked anything yet. Used to using a wheel on ps3 but the handling with the controller is pretty good once you get used to it.

Really enjoying this game so far, looking forward to trying online once I've used more than a kart!

I can't stop playing this lol. I also can't stop driving on the donnington gp track. Its just so addictive

I have found some DS4 settings that work well for me... these remove most of the twitchyness, but still allow decent control.

Steering dead zone: 0
Steering Sensitivity: 30

Throttle dead zone: 0
Throttle Sensitivity: 50

Brake dead zone: 0
Brake Sensitivity: 30

Speed Sensitivity: 75
Controller Filtering: 35

Force Feedback: 100
Advanced: On

Input mode: 3

Damage is deffo working now too, so not sure what happened on my sons lap of glory... he finished first when I could not... but I was trying to drive properly :p

I know.. I just love Silverstone, Monza, donnington, imola, any German track including the nurburgring, gt3 and now formula c , like I say, what is good is good.

I just wonder how much support this game will get from devs moving forwards... GT on ps3 had so support after release. SMS take note, as the base game is ok. PC gamers aren't so pleased with it in general mind..

Loving the game atm, but it seems there a few racers out there that don't like being overtaken and proceed to try and ram you off the track as soon as you start to go past them. Other than that pretty good.
