** OcUK PROUDLY PRESENTS - VESARO ADVANCED RACING SIMULATORS **

That's the one I used when I went to visit them to play games all day discuss this partnership.

Awaits news of rjkoneill being found in the discard parts bin and every other member of OCUK applying for his job.

Step 1: Win lottery
Step 2: Explain to wife why I need one of these when I don't ever play racing games.

You don't get FREE Haribo if you buy one of these, the guys from the Shop come around in a rota to cook your meals for a week and rub your feet.

The Stage 9 one is £7000 more than buying it direct from Vesaro?

In fact they all seem much more expensive than buying direct?

Getting this sounds like it defeats the point of driving a real car, but at least I know if I crash and burn on the Sim, only my pride is bruised, whilst I walk away to make a sandwich.

Seriously though, at this rate, does OcUK plan to sell Cars with loads of gadgets within? Imagine a fully Overclocked gadget filled car for sale - speed of the car is not the objective, it's all about that folding rate!

If I had the space, the money, the time, the everything else... I'd buy one.

I actually think it's really cool - but too rich for my taste!

I've done and do track days, and despite loving driving, loving my car - this could be an easy way to get your thrills whilst you wait for your track day to come up. Then again if you can spend £35-£50k on something like this you probably don't need to wait for a track day, you'd just rock up and take your ferrari for a spin!

Racing simulators will never compare to driving a real car, so I don't see why you would want to spend £35K+ on a setup like this, but I suppose some people like the risk free factor.

I personally found driving my Slowlo round Silverstone IRL, much more enjoyable than playing on a similar looking OTT simulator at Goodwood driving an Aston round the Nordschleife.

The adrenaline, the fear, the sounds, the smell of your brand new tyres being tortured as you slide through a corner past a Golf GTI with a confused driver, you can't get that with a sim. :D

Well, they ARE comparable, however, they may not be as realistic/accurate as real life driving.

I agree that driving your own car is far more fun no matter where you drive it - if you have the right attitude/skill and the road is good enough or the track is good enough you can have a blast even if you haven't got an exotic car.

That said, you can learn the track using sims - I've done that before and it really did help me learn the track faster as a result.

I realise that my own personal setup is nowhere near at the level of these, but I have a G25 and Assetto Corsa/C.A.R.S and I find them very difficult, it doesn't feel like driving a car to me at all, and even in 4K I struggle to see when the corners are coming, whereas in real life you can see plain as day.

Who needs a track or a sim when their daily drive is just like that. :p:D

The real thing better than a sim shocker!

I know there was never a dispute over that fact, I was just wondering a-loud why anyone would spend so much on a simulator when they could buy a couple of old Porsches (so they have a spare in-case they crash) and have change for track events. :p
