I was going to leave it a while before posting a Daily Fail thread, saw this story previously when the 'diversity officer' essentially claimed that racism/sexism doesn't exist when directed at white people/males. This was in the resulting bunfight that emerged after she organisaed an event but specifically banned 'men' and 'white people'. That was amusing but it is a story that just keeps giving...

Now she has added to the increasing media attention but tweeting something a bit silly: (I was going to link to an article from a different newspaper but I think a Daily Fail article is most appropriate)

Ironically she is basically white herself - though she presumably doesn't consider herself so because she's got a Turkish name and is banging on about 'people of colour'. Its not like the Turkish built a big empire or massacred a bunch of Armenians... no she is from an oppressed minority and despite basically being a white person she can use her 'minority' and supposed 'person of colour' status to make openly racist remarks... because she's going with a redefined meaning of racism.

Various bloggers are trying to support her and construct all sorts of convoluted arguments as to why it is OK - normally revolving around 'but but but 'powers structures', 'privilege' etc.. Obviously you're racist/sexist/cis scum if you object.

I'll never understand how people can rationalise in their brains that you can't be racist to white people. With that said, it's no surprise she also thinks you can't be sexist to men.

She's obviously got a race complex, too. If she's fixated on how she "isn't white". Despite the fact that no one really IS white. She isn't Caucasian if she's of Turkish descent, but that really doesn't matter.

I've met a fair amount of people who have race complexes about themselves, and more often than not they are quite racially ambiguous.
 
She seems certifiably insane, and I say that in a serious tone as she really does appear to need psychiatric help. I don't see where the discussion is around her losing her job, why hasn't she already been thrown out?
 
Is it ironic that she's telling the world to kill white men on a communication system (the internet) was created by a white man, as was the computer she uses and probably the large amount of apple products that make her such a super individual sunflower....

I had the same argument with the feminist at my missus cafe, who was claiming that white males have a unfair advantage and should be taxed because of it. All the money taken should be handed to women only causes...
She also stated that women should go on strike untill it was done...
Lets just say I had spent the last 12 hours sweating my manhood off in the steel works and wasn't very kind pointing out how nice women have it in the world. Something along the lines of average life expectancy, number of work place deaths. She didn't like it when I pointed out that if women went on strike men would be a little put out in the nursing /teaching roles but if men went on strike her comfortable life would come crashing to her knees.

She hasn't talked to me since and tries to get my girlfriend (who is totally against modern feminism) to break up with the misogynistic man...

Apparently there is a petition to get rid of her here

no, but I am an avid reader - amusing stories, dubious medical/scientific articles, irrelevant 'stories' about some soap/reality/pop star spotted wearing a 'daring' bikini or short skirt
 
"Could" lose her job. If a man had tweeted "#killallwomen" or a man or woman had tweeted "no *******" they'd have been sacked on the spot.

thing is, this was confined to tumbler in the past - now it is becoming more common in student politics and has hit mainstream media... it won't be long until grownups start referring to this stuff - I fully expect some future members of the Labour or Green party to start using terms like 'cis male' and making arguments about how racism should be defined in terms of power structures.

And I wouldn't be surprised if some future student leader starts campaigning for rights for 'otherkin'... perhaps 'plantkin' types can try to ban the cruel display of a tree every Christmas...
