Student diversity officer in racism row could lose her job after allegedly tweeting 'kill all white

I'm not sure I agree, I can see why the feminist wimmins don't want to discuss how oppressed they all are, while there is a bloke in the room rolling his eyes and sighing deeply.

But I do think her little joke about men should be treated in exactly the same way as a man's little twitter joke about women would be, which is a public witchhunt followed by a ludicrously pointless prison sentence.

Utopia.

I make racist jokes with my friends and the call me a white devil. The UK is too PC, and imo, we'll only get past it if we treat it as stupidity like it is. I just don't think think we're quite ready as a society for it yet.

Well you certainly have the public witchhunt.

As for prison, people say genuinely hateful things on Twitter all the time with very little in the way of repercussions.

frankly there shouldn't be repercussions - short of direct threats to individuals, inciting riots or racial hatred... people should be free to post/troll on twitter and yes even though I think she is a a prat it is clear she isn't actually calling for genocide of white people... she should really be thrown out of that position in a vote of no confidence but I don't think it is a police matter - then again some of the incidents in the press which have become police matters have been dodgy

and then again some of those people have been a bit silly frankly if you're going to troll on twitter then use a fake name and ideally a VPN too...

Have you ever found yourself walking home at night, and been stopped in the street by a woman masturbating at you?
not at me but I have seen it whilst walking home at the side of the park.
Or has a woman ever followed you down the street, while shouting that she wants to “shag” you?
yes once. Nutter.
Likewise, white people: has someone ever followed you around a shop suspiciously?
yes frequently. Normally security.
Have the police ever stopped and searched you for no reason?
twice. Obviously I wasn't privy to their reasons. Wrong place wrong time I guess.
Has someone shouted a racial slur at you, or treated you as somehow inferior to them because of your race?
yes a couple of times.

Now as a white privileged man does this give me the right to sterotyped anyone because I've dealt with most of those queries that somehow justify actions. Give you a hint, no it doesn't.

The best part is the last sentence showing how crazy and cut from the same cloth as the women he is. The people he has allied with are telling him to shut the **** up but he writes a whole article about the situation. He should have followed that advice a whole article ago.

As a white man, I'm surprised more women aren't tweeting the hashtag #killallwhitemen

Interesting counterpoint from someone who I bet has never been laid.

the problem with in jokes is that they aren't jokes when the poster believes everything that they said.

A member of the KKK wouldn't be allowed to say #kill all XYZ and dress it up as an "in joke"......

Interesting thing equality but she isn't fighting for it.

i do agree with his closing statement about shutting the **** up though. Best thing any one can do is let this little girl carry on and ignore it. When she realises that her radical ideals/actions aren't being taken seriously she might try something more appropriate and possibly be more effective.

Still at least she got us all talking right?

Just another blinkered nut job who thinks if he/she takes a more aggressive or black and white stance they will get the attention they crave....usually without appreciating that is actually their motivation for creating the stir. I had a couple of female friends when I was younger who used to like to feel higher than anyone around them and their approach was to snigger and make silly comments and facial expressions when they felt someone made a comment that was ill formed or stupid. It was their way, in their mind, of power play and being erudite and it was simply 'their' joke at others expense without (in their silly minds) the others knowing. I see many of the same things in this persons actions and what gets them most angry is indifference to them and their opinions, hence the more and more nut job perspectives.

"Take a stance that I know to be be silly but more importantly I know will **** off the people I despise because they are not me or sharing of my opinions".

£1000 for this 'consultancy' please :D

well yeah she's defining racism in terms of power structures denying it can exist in certain forms... while I don't agree with the label 'reverse racism' my disagreement with it is because racism is just racism, not because racism depends on power structures

I hope we don't end up going down the path of some US colleges and introducing 'affirmative action' - not only is it crude and unfair but it actually ends up discriminating against other minorities - Asian Americans now need to get higher grades than white people to get into Harvard... and of course for the black students people are going to wonder whether they got the same grades they needed to get there or whether they got in because they're black - that can't be a nice feeling for the black students who are there purely on their own merit

He's suggesting we as men all do these things as well
Men – be honest. Have you ever found yourself walking home at night, and been stopped in the street by a woman masturbating at you?
Or has a woman ever followed you down the street, while shouting that she wants to “shag” you?

Never followed a woman , never masturbated at a woman without her consent, never followed anyone down the street shouting I want to "shag" you.

Am I doing it wrong? because these things clearly happen to women all the time right...

Maybe we should invent menimism where we claim all woman cry rape after we sleep with them, all women try to trap us by faking pregnancies etc

First up the best thing is NOT to let her continue, she's effectively preaching to people, she's being racist and sexist and leaving her alone suggests that her views have merit and she shouldn't lose her position over them... she absolutely should. Her beliefs aren't okay and no one should be able to mistake her keeping her position as a suggestion those views are okay.

Also without re-watching the apology video from the previous incident, iirc she effectively ran for student union position on a platform of representing minorities but claims that is ALL she has to do in her position because that is the platform she ran on.

I would happily vote for someone who campaigns to help do more for minorities but that is based on them doing the actual job they were elected for, ie representing ALL students but making an extra effort to bring minorities some notice. It is absolutely abhorrent to run for student union then take the job and ignore the majority of students and actively say you do not represent them and only represent minorities.

Her entire view point is flawed, she should have been removed after the first incident immediately seeing as in her apology video she publicly announced she was unwilling to do the job she was elected in to but was actively going to refuse to represent the majority of students.

These student union officer jobs never seem to attract anyone even half competent, she doesn't appear to be bright either way.

You're right, but we have a prime minister representing the 1% voted in by just 37%... Two ways of looking at it. Her ideas are so ridiculous that even women think she's mental. This shouldn't be given air time.

Or they are so extreme they should be shot down to avoid giving them legitimacy.

Both work but what is happening is she is just getting attention. This witch hunt by white men validates everything to her.

While Cameron is most certainly pro the 1%, so is every other party though that is neither here nor there, but he doesn't entirely ignore everyone else, literally publicly stating he won't represent them doesn't want them to talk to him, doesn't find their viewpoint valid and isn't actively racist nor sexist against them.

Validating stuff to her isn't relevant, she is irrelevant. However if there are hundreds/thousands of students of all races and genders see her say things like this AND be left alone, it's their views I care about. Likewise younger people reading about it in the news. If she receives a backlash all around she may or may not question her beliefs and may or may not change, but it sends a message to other people that her views aren't acceptable and she can't hold a position of representing the student body while holding those views. That is an important message to send.

It is rather important not to ignore it as this stuff has been building up traction. It's very possible that these kind of ideals will become so exclusive that they end up alienating and destroying each other but you gotta have someone there to tell them what they are saying is nonsense.

Cut the goat banger's head off and have it as a prize in a Kabbadi tourney.... but it's just an "in-joke", so you can all calm down.

In-jokes aside, I'm just glad #WomenAgainstFeminism is a real thing. Included are social scholars, professors and such.

Genuine question, OP. When I follow your thread links to the DM website, who are you in the comments section? Just had a quick check on your threads started and it's DM this, Telegraph that, BBC the other.

Let's cut out the middleman and just comment on your comments on the originating site :high fives:
