**** The Official Note 5 thread ****

if it isn't water resistant, sd card slot or a removeable back then i'll be disapointed

i don't want an ugly glass/metal box that dints and scratches or shatters within weeks like the htc m7,8,9 or iphone 4,5,6 or the xperia z1,2,3,4.

i'd happily take a lightweight plastic back

Pretty much the same here. Not overly bothered about water resistance, but SD and removable battery are essential.

Otherwise I'll just grab a Note 4 instead.

don't get me wrong. i don't think an sdcard slot or battery replacement is needed or even essential. the s6 is clearly a great phone. it's just i buy samsung because i WANT a plastic phone, the option for sdcard and a second battery lol

USB Type-C, a much larger battery, 1440p (so no silly 4K), faster SoC than the S6, UFS 2.0 memory - excited.

Come September how much do you think I could get for a nearly brand new S4 (in terms of use, my old one broke in April and they replaced with a new unit which I don't use) and a 6 month old Note 4 :D?

20v with 5Amps of current. That will offer faster charging than a wall outlet. Let's see how that pans out. If it is as rumoured, then I "may" be tempted to switch back,e specially if the also rumoured Theme Engine ships with it and there's a stock Android theme available like on Xperia devices.

Not trying to interject into your phone choices but the Dash Micro I've mentioned previously solves the removable storage issue and imho is better than removing the case then back of the phone to get at a micro sd card.

"Trademarking the Galaxy S6 Note is just Samsung’s way of making sure that obscure Chinese vendors don’t get it to first."

If that were really a problem, surely they'd have registered S1-999, with and without Note, five years ago?

Yeah don't mind the USB-C, can see a lot of future phones making the jump with next flagships and is an improvement over regular micro port. I just hope they don't go overboard with the construction and sacrifice the battery on the phone, I would happily keep the same thickness and have a larger battery. Would prefer to keep the removable battery too, I am not overly fussed about a metal/glass construction.

If they are keeping dimensions similar then little weatherproofing would go a long way too for a peace of mind for my usage. No need for a 4K screen in my opinion and apart from that a little improvement on the S6 camera would ensure I have a phone that I will happily keep for at least 2 years without looking out for the next big thing. Extras like integrated wireless charging would do nicely too.

i hope we don't get a snapdragon processor.

samsung has proven that the 808 and 810 just aren't that great

That's what my initial thoughts were but once Kona had that brainwave about using it for centrally heating our houses I suddenly saw the survial or general SHTF situations potential of the device, 810 owners are gona have the warm tents!
