Mythbusters has a good one off them trying to break a window from inside using available items in a car and they can't.

It was the first thing I could find in 10 seconds of googling - surely the very fact the Discovery Channel even bothered to film a clip attempting to demonstrate how tricky it can be smash a car window suggests that, actually, it might be quite tricky to smash a car window.

How many people actually know that, though? Most regular people do not know this and would smack away at the centre of the glass.

I thought even on newer more tougher Windows they still had a weak spot like most materials do, hit it in the right place and it would break.

Some car windows are hard to break, i remember an episode of road wars a cop was battering a driver side window with an extendable baton and it didn't break.

Just youtube it, people with big metal hammers taking many shots before it smashes. Watch mythbusters submerged car episode etc.
