In 1992, Shoko Asahara, the founder of Aum Shinrikyo, published a book in which he declared himself "Christ", Japan's only fully enlightened master and identified with the "Lamb of God".
Hundreds of years of brutality committed by Western Christian powers across the world? The Crusades? Lords Resistance Army? KKK?
Talking about the last few years. So please post what I asked if you can. Thanks

If you think any of those things were anything to do with religion you are naive.
Leader: "How do we motivate people to do our bidding?"
Advisor: "Tell them God told them to do it!"
Leader: "Fantastic"

cutting off heads seems to be a muslim thing
There is not such thing as a moderate Muslim in the European context, there are only passive and active Muslims.
When someone defines themselves by a religion which is the antithesis of European civilization, its impossible to regard them as anything less than hostile.
Lol you are telling me the crusades had nothing to do with religion? ok
Both George Bush and Tony Blair had "god" tell them to go and bomb iraq to smithereens.

for terrorism with a nut job christian angle see:
granted they're a bit less common
I'm sure you could find the same number of verses in the New Testament of the bible...
What does the fact they are muslim have to do with it? This is just a case of "Terrorist lunatics kill people in France, again".
Islamic fundamentalists are no more Muslims than the Westboro Baptist Church are Christians...

Lol considering Christianity played a huge role in European civilisations including contrary to secularist revision, Christians played a big role in the Renaissance. It's easy to just blame everything on religion.
Of course, religion is just a political tool to brainwash and manipulate the ignorant.
It's funny how people seem to lose their heads discussing radical Islam.
And again we will hear silence, bar a few outspoken people, from the muslim community. Please don't give me the "why don't christians march about child abuse". Two wrongs don't make a right, if people really don't support this mass terror then stand up and shout, don't say "we don't support it, but let's talk about this and that first, then we might come out and help". Make a stand, the floor is yours. So often I see "yea but" statements from the muslim community, "yea of course they are idiots, but lets me talk about this and that".
No, talk about the elephant in the room, own the issue with your community and the people who you share an Island with will come out and support you too, I suspect in their millions. THIS is how right now you bring together your lack of ears in the generations who have lived here and also, those who aren't from your religion who have arrived in the last 2 generations. Do that, show you are part of this country and I guarantee we will join you when you want to talk about the things you want us to discuss, but right now no one is listening to your pleas because of the elephant in the room.
Genuinely not stirring up religious argument here but simply making a point - can these 'extremists' not be excused (poor choice of words I know) for violence when there are over 100 verses in the Koran promoting it?
There is only so much violence one can explain away as being perpetrated by a crazy few. Just look at the civil and inter-country wars going on in the name of Islam right now to see this isn't a matter of a few people. Are Islamic leaders addressing these teachings, particularly if it is down to misinterpretation?
