This might be my next case. It's got a lot of charm
I actually emailed In Win about this yesterday funnily enough... I was replied to very promptly by a very helpful fella named Justin who told me that we should see stock in the UK around late August, early September, and pre order options in the next few weeks with all the usual retailers.
Stunning looking case.
It won't be cheap I don't imagine, In Win never are, but if the case performs well enough, the design is certainly worth a premium.
I hope its no more then £150? I so want this case now!
I don't think it'll be that much, but I think the one thing in its favour is the existence of the 909... that will be the more expensive flagship case, so hopefully the 805 will be quite a bit under £200.
I saw this case too and think it looks really nice. The only thing I don't like about it is the honeycomb design on the front with the red LEDs illuminating it.
I'm waiting to get a better look so I can choose between this and the forthcoming CM Mastercase 5 which - I hope - will arrive around the same time.
The red design case DOES have a red logo on the side to match, but that figures to match to the red metal. If you don't like red, you'd just choose black or gold version of case. They used red LED fan's also in their Computex example, which enhances it... you don't have to have any, or you can have whatever colour you want, with an LED strip behind for example. But I imagine you'd only get the red case if you wanted an overall red theme.
If you check out the IN WIN WEBSITE, it shows the airflow is from the bottom at the front. Hard to say how much though, as you can't see the size of the opening. Time will tell how effective it is, but I imagine as with the H440 you will need high static pressure fans to get the best results with this.
I like red, but I like the black with inwin logo in white on the side. Which means I would need white LED fans in front. I was thinking of using my AIO corsair H105 with a pair of corsair 1600rpm white LED fans. with the H105 240mm rad in front jusat wasn't sure about air flow? I did see Inwin use their water cooled a 805 with a huge 280mm rad in front with red led's so I should be fine with my H105 240 rad. So might do I black and white theme.
I don't see your average fan doing the job here... it's a closed front with a relatively small opening at the bottom, so you will need high static pressure fans to cool this case effectively. It seems worse airflow than the H440, which I owned myself and that really benefitted from high SP fans at the front. A reference or AIO GPU will also be the best way to go for this. One thing in its favour though is that those chunky glass side panels and solid frame should do a decent job of keeping it quiet. Always compromises to be made for a case like this, but damn if it isn't a beauty!![]()
She sure is
Yes the air flow isn't the greatest, but If you have a reference cooler GPU (I have a GTX Titan X) and like you said a AIO or total water cooling, Air flow shouldn't be a problem. I'm buying this because it looks like a work of art and it looks the part.
I'll be using a Corsair H105 CPU cooler with my Titan X. Will put h105 rad in front and move drive cage up top with x2 120mm fans on the bottom and 1 out the back. Should be fine with air flow. She is definitely a beauty!
Yeah, I've not been this excited about a case in a very very long time.
FYI, an In Win rep over on overclock.net has said the 805 will retail at $199... not bad actually, less than I thought. I reckon that will equate to around £150 here after taxes and what not, hopefully not much more.
