Thread deleted??

this is something I am in the process of arranging, yes.
Well played, that was the primary concern for many of us if it's a genuine fire hazard.

Nice to see a business take responsibility & resolve the issue.

This is something that I have addressed with out technical team today.

The Tech Labs products are supposed to represent a high level of professional workmanship and offer customers a hassle free approach. On this occasion there has been a bit of a screw up.

The benefit is that unlike dealing with a board partner who is likely to point the finger of blame at a customer, we as a retailer offer our own warranty on these products and at times like this can hold our hands up and say that we screwed up.

I'm glad to see Hammerark has been dealt with quickly and is clearly being more than reasonable about the situation.

This is a QC issue that has now been raised and added to our already extensive checklists.

if nothing else happens, this sort of stuff helps us improve our service.

Apologies to Hammerark, we will do what we can to sort this as quickly as possible for you.

And this is why OCUK always gets my money even if something is slightly cheaper somewhere else...

agreed, their customer service has always been helpful at getting any issues resolved and quick responding.

this is one of the reasons why I use OCUK, as signal said I also will buy from OCUK even if they do charge more for some parts.

I hope the issue gets sorted quickly :)

Thanks Rik, it's good to know you guys are doing what you can to resolve the issue for anyone else too.

I'll get the cards and blocks etc off to you guys as soon as I can, hopefully tomorrow.

Glad they sorted it for you and it's just another example of how good OcUk's customer service is. A few years ago I ordered a graphics card as a Christmas card for my brother and it was due to arrive on the 22nd of December. I rang OcUK that evening wondering where my card was, turned out the courier had lost it and they wouldn't be able to get it to me before Christmas. I was disappointed but realised there was nothing much I could do about it.

But, the guy (I can't remember who it was) told me to hold the line and went off to talk to someone higher up, probably Gibbo :), and he came back and told me that they would send out another card straight away at their own expense and promised me it would be there in time. And true to their word the card arrived the next day.

Awesome service. And It's why I always recommend them to friends and family.

I like the way OCUK have held their hands up and taken responsibility, just wish they left the thread here for all to see. Almost looks like they're trying to hide something.

it just got moved to support so that the OP didnt have to create a new thread to have his issue attended to.

no other way of doing it sadly but its cool to see this thread go up. you're a nice bunch looking out for one another like this. :)

Hmm, to be fair fire risk is fire risk heh you don't get a second chance often with a fire. I remember a cold cathode light and inverter which literally caught fire and almost killed me in the night. No silly lights in my pc these days! I'd be happy to buy a techlabs card from ocuk from this day onwards though because I'm reckoning someone got absolutely mega p45'ed for this as in 'you could have killed a few people with gross negligence' p45'ed. I know my company would.

People make mistakes, blowing a situation out of proportion by declaring that OCuk almost killed a house of people by not using thermal pads correctly, is ridiculous. Though the potential for disaster seems catastrophic but at the end of the day it wasn't. Going around and expecting OCuk to fire people to just so you can feel less paranoid when buying a pre-blocked GPU, is selfish and unreasonable. The said employee could just be retrained or allocated different work, why imply the need to ruin someones lively-hood because you have struggled with your own mortality due to a light in your PC popping once upon a time.

If OP is happy to get the blocks replaced and no more, then i think it is best to let OCuk make the judgements on what should happen to the 'techlaber' rather than start hating due to 'what ifs' and posting that you would shop again due to your confidence of someone getting their p45.

I would have thought if you harboured such paranoia against fire risks, then you would just fit the blocks yourself bemaniac?
