Isis Troll. How many yards down your road would he have made it??

The man is a bit of an idiot but, thankfully for large swathes of the population, being a bit of an idiot isn't illegal.

Freedom of expression and all that.

Ironically (or not...) many of the reactions posted on here I would associate more with someone walking down a street in the middle a Syrian city with a burning Koran...

Edit: luckily we live in a more civilised society and carrying a flag doesn't warrant being beaten up.

One relevant passage from the Public Order Act 1986, which covers England and Wales, says someone is guilty of causing "harassment, alarm or distress" if they "display any writing, sign or other visible representation which is threatening, abusive or insulting within the hearing or sight of a person likely to be caused harassment, alarm or distress thereby".
Hmm, that sounds like it could be used against drawings of Mo.
The pan-UK Terrorism Act 2000 is also relevant. "A person in a public place commits an offence if he (a) wears an item of clothing, or (b) wears, carries or displays an article, in such a way or in such circumstances as to arouse reasonable suspicion that he is a member or supporter of a proscribed organisation."
That sounds like it hits the nail on the head.

Dumb move really as it could have ended badly for the bloke, but it is 'just a bloke with a flag' so not that worthy of so much panty twisting.

Loving the Keyboard Warrior brigade.

Removing the flag will just re-enforce to a minority that UK Muslims are persecuted. The best thing we all could do is just walk by and laugh.

Quoted for truth. As some people are saying, freedom works both ways. We can lower ourselves to their levels by assaulting him on the streets of London for banding around a flag (e.g. aka Charlie Hebdo attack in a lesser extreme) or we can hold our heads high - confident that our values of freedom can conquer this despicable cult.

Yes it's annoying to see but can't people see he's just trying to get a rise out of people, to try to prove that we're as bad as they are?

Instead of worrying about this chap hold a flag, we need to come down hard on those actually carrying out attacks in and around the 'caliphate' against innocent people.

How available are these flags?

No vigilantism from me but it would certainly raise an eyebrow and I would hope the Police have noted his details...

And rightly so, I don't agree with a violent barbaric group of people so I'm going to be violent in responce  The irony is sadly lost on most of them :p

what if you disagree with a violent barbaric group being violent and barbaric to innocents so you decide to use violence to protect the innocent?

you know like the reasoning we have behind a police force.

That, I assume, is why he was spoken to by the police. He obviously had an answer that then satisfied the police that he wasn't a member of supporter of an organisation.

He'll probably turn out to be a reporter recording a channel 4 program...:p

That sounds a bit extreme to me, it sounds like it would ban all those sad Che Guevara t-shirts.

Personally anything that reminds idiot liberals that they have naively allowed a violent Fifth Column freedom to breed in the UK, is a good thing :)
More flag wearing hipsters please

It's called reasonable force and of course it should be used to protect the innocent, I don't see how that is relevant to someone being physically assaulted for carrying a particular type of fabric!!
