*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

Xur is pretty decent this week:

Titan: Eternal Warrior
Warlock: Purifier Robes
Hunter: Crest of Alpha Lupi
Weapon: Plan C
Engram: Helmet

Yes ******* Yes! Purifier Robes are the only Exotic I am missing. :D

Will try to get Celestial Nighthawk (for about the 50 billionth time!) as I have decided that if it drops I will remake Moody into a Hunter ( I still have all of her armour).

Mrs Will be pleased as she doesn't have the Titan or WL Exotic armour. Weekly is enjoyable this week so getting the SC isn't hard.

The weekly isn't so easy when you get match made with 2 players aren't using any solar weapons. I get people may not have run raids but specials and heavy should be easy. The other 2 runs lucked in to all 3 of us running VoC, BH and Gjalla so was stupidly easy.

The one run I did was very easy despite the Mrs not having a solar primary & the level 30 we got match made with only having a legendary primary.

I agree though that getting a hold of solar special and heavies is pretty easy. Even a 242 Rare solar sniper will be useful with solar burn for example.

I just played it like I was running solo.

Sepiks survived for an entire 7 seconds in one of my weekly runs. There was only 2 of us as well, but a trip mine + Celestial Nighthawk golden gun + Gjallarhorn from me, and Gjallarhorn from the other person, made very light work of him!

According to the trophies, only 1 in 5 players have actually completed a raid. So 80% of people who bought the game have either not been willing or unable to access this content.

Something to spend coins on :p will grab the titan and warlock ones, then just missing the hunter boots.

I've only finished 2 normal VoG, and corta once. I just find Raids a bit boring, and I have a pretty crazy worklife so tend to miss out on most ocuk runs. Crucible is also way more fun for me personally, it does get tough not having decent primary with burn, guess I need to go flawless more often I have 2 crappy AR's from the chest thus far.

Not surprised at that, most people can't be arsed with LFG or arranging a time for people to get together....they just play the content with matchmaking.

Really wish they would come up with some kind of solution for matchmaking. Just enabling for everything wouldn't work, but an in-game system of some kind isn't beyond the realms of possibility. You could certainly add matchmaking for Nightfalls, PoE 32 and PoE 34 without any issues.

That is higher than I expected it to be considering Destiny has always been marketed as an RPG FPS. It is a rough estimation obviously as it doesn't take in to account people who sell the game etc. so it would be interesting to know the percentage of active players who have completed a raid but I doubt Bungie will just tell us that.

Going back to my original comment though, raids or not surely players who are 33 and 34 have elemental special and heavy weapons. One of them was using a non element primary, arc sniper and void lmg. Arc I sort of understand due to captains but void? absolutely no reason to use void on Sepiks.

Except for the elemental primaries and a few other weapons raids are a bit pointless now. CE is just a rubbish raid anyway but I think VoG has suffered as it is now easy due to the increases in level caps. I do wonder if at some point a higher level will be added to VoG and CE. Maybe with extra rewards or some new mechanic added in somewhere.

VoG HM is still pretty hard, because it wasn't reliant on player's being under-levelled to be a challenge. You get a complacent group on HM and you'll wipe, a lot. I enjoy it but I have every VoG weapon and armour piece so no real reason to do it again.

Crota HM is very easy now because the challenge was designed with a level penalty in place....more of a six person strike really anyway. Wouldn't mind getting WoC and Nechrochasm but tbh I'm more interested in mastering trials and going for the Adept weapons.

Really looking forward to TTK raid, biggest yet, more puzzles and stuff.

I'd disagree on the pretty hard part.

It definitely requires a lot more teamwork and concentration than crota however. The damage output of 365 weapons on atheon makes it much easier.

Go do it with some LFG groups and get back to me :P A lot of new players around now that don't have the experience.

It's easy if you've got a team of people that have done it 20+ times and know exactly what they're doing. Atheon isn't particularly hard but the three Templar stages are not a walkover by any means.

Get new and inexperienced or imcompetent players then yeah of course it is going to be harder. Get a group that is semi compitent and you can walk through the raid, the hardest part is the gorgon maze and jumping puzzle. Conflux and Templar fight are prime examples, it used to be even with 6 people it was a challenge but last night 3 of us did it without any trouble.

Confluxes can still be a pain, but I think it mainly comes down to inexperience and not using the right gear. For example completely panicking when a Minotaur comes out, rather than just shotgunning it in the face, and not communicating properly (personally I find if you hold the middle, each side can be held okay by people that aren't 'pro' at the encounter).

But I think in the same vain, Skolas will always require that extra bit of team work that makes it a great piece of gameplay, rather than Crota which is just a timed bore. I think what makes an encounter great is when the mechanics are the challenge, not the ads (the ads may make the mechanics more difficult to deal with, of course. But that's when they're a useful juggling act to make it more of a challenge: spending 10 seconds one-shotting 10 enemies, rather than 10 minutes grinding a few high-level ads).

Yeah I think it's experience that makes VoG seem easy. You know every spot to duck into when your shield is low, you know exactly where to watch your radar for teleporting vex, you know you've got a few seconds once they get to the conflux, you know to have a void shotty/heavy for the minotaurs, you know where to stand to minimise hobgoblin fire on oracles and to have a weapon suitable for managing them.

Not saying I wouldn't like a higher-level version....but I'm not sure really what rewards they could offer to make it worthwhile....maybe some etheric light for downing Atheon? Problem is you're letting people farm 3 using the CP very easily.

Always hoped before etheric light that a higher level VoG would be the method to obtain 365 versions of raid weapons - seemed a nice way to keep that raid relevant.

ps3ud0

The problem with raids is you need to at least be experienced or have the correct weapons fully levelled or a combo of both for the hard modes only, normal mode can be done with any levelled weapon within reason.

I've raided with randoms all the time and I sometimes run into groups who don't have any of the weapons needed to complete a raid. Oracle killers for atheon teleport is the biggest example. Idiots thinking they can take it down with a unlevelled exotic hand cannon.

You then run into people without any experience of relics. It's impossible to do if your the only one with the right weapons and experience.

I can usually figure out within 5 minutes whether I'm in a good raid team or not. If I'm not I'll just tell them they are wasting my time and they need to do the normal raid first or level up their weapons before attempting hard mode. I'm not going to even try and waste my time carrying them because 1 person cannot carry 3-4 others in a raid.

Guy's running the right weapons but without a single bubble unlocked are also useless. They need to fully level that FB, VOC, Timepiece, icebreaker, etc before going into VOG HM.

If they put matchmaking into raids all the noobs would complain they are too hard and force bungie to make them even easier.

Matchmaking isn't the answer. Also I'm willing to bet in matchmaking 95% of people don't use mics. try that in a raid with inexperienced players, etc.

I can do a VOG with a decent team in like 30 mins. With the wrong team it can be impossible, so best to ditch deadbeats as soon as you figure out they aren't running the right gear to do it.

at the maze I usually tell everyone to quit and i run it myself as well as the jumping puzzle and then get to GK checkpoint before telling them all to rejoin.

if you don't do that your usually there for 45 mins with some noob blowing it every time.

i'd rather get to the end ASAP than waste time.

the hardest content is beyond a lot of players.

add in matchmaking and you would be wishing it wasn't there.

i've done a 35 easily in the right team. in the wrong team the 32 can be impossible.
