Help me decide on a new graphics card. ($150 to $240 dollars)

Final Update: Eventually decided on a Gigabyte R9 380 4GB G1.

Update:

Link to my post of my short listed cards: http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showpost.php?p=28323240&postcount=37

Choices are now: (but see my post for reasoning and questions.)
Gigabyte 380 4GB G1 - $229
MSI 380 Gaming 4GB - $239
Gigabyte 285 2GB - $154 (after rebate and includes Dirt Rally).

Update:
Now I'm indecisive... I have upto $250 (dollars) to spend and don't know whether to go for:

270x (budget option at around $150/160)
285 2gb $190 to $229
380 4 gb at around $190 to $229
960 2gb at around $225.
290 (non-X reference card) at around $249.

There is the chance in the future that I will be looking to get a UHD or slighter lower res screen.

Original:
I have an AMD APU 7850k clocked at 4.5ghz, and I want a bit more graphics grunt. Looking at a 660 2gb for 129 dollars or a 270x (xfx double fan) for 159 dollars.
Thoughts and comments please? (These are from best buy usa as I have store credit)

You should try and get something more current if possible, Can you afford a 960? Or the 950 we hear is due soon. People are already moaning that the Kepler 600 and 700 series cards are getting poorer support so wait a few weeks for a 950 if you can't go 960 or go with the AMD card as it's equivalent to a 700 series gen wise. Even though technically it's a 7870 ghz.

the 270X is faster than the 660ti let alone a bog standard 660 like the ones you are after. On average the 270X is around 15-20% faster than a 660 so there's no contest.

lol, no not bought it yet, was thinking about going to get it tonight (5 hours behind here).

Sometimes things are not obvious... like maybe the 660 overclocked like crazy, and the 270X doesn't or something. I would love a 290 but just spent $1200 on the dog with x-rays, ultrasounds, blood tests etc this week.

I can't seem to find a 'reasonable' card for anything under 200 dollars though which sucks.

Is the 960 really that much better? If I am considering the 960 should I also consider another AMD card in the same price range?

The R9 380 and 960 trade blows with one another.

The 960 has lower power consumption, and can use Nvidia GameWorks features (though is it worth using them with the huge performance hit is another matter); with the R9 380, if you were to upgrade to a monitor with sync tech in the future, the same monitor with Freesync would cost around £100-£150 less than Gsync (Nvidia).

Looking at the spec of the 380 vs the 960, you would think the 380 would destroy the 380... but it doesn't. Just seems really odd.

Still considering the 270x @ $159, but seeing if I can get maybe an r9 285/380 or... even a 290.

Now I have seen some 290's (non-x) for $249, but they are reference design, so wondering if they will be pretty noisy? I know the performance will be significantly better than even a 285, but just concerned it will be real noisy.
