New law!! for music cd/dvd owned, you're no longer allowed to copy songs for private use

Ah yes, another decision made by people who are completely out of touch with the modern world and technology.

This is 2015, the digital age, would I much rather fill my living room with optical media or condense it all in digital format for a fraction of the physical space?

Because of this, more people are going to copy their content.

How the **** do these people expect me to watch a movie or listen to a music CD on my phone/tablet?

Utterly ridiculous.

Now illegal again to rip your dvd's etc

from the beeb

It's now illegal - again - to copy CDs or DVDs you've bought to put onto your MP3 player, your computer or other devices.

The government had introduced a new law in October last year meaning it was legal to transfer music into your home library.

But that law has been overturned in the High Court.

It's after a legal challenge from Basca, the Musicians' Union, and industry representatives UK Music.

It obviously doesn't matter because people don't care. They keep changing the law because they know they can't control it. No one is going to come round and check whether you've ripped your DVDs or not!

In any case this isn't going to change **** for me. The tories, the MPAA and every one else involved can go **** themselves.

Internet tough guy.

What is on all these phones though? That you see everyone carrying? Who carries dedicated MP3 players these days?

Me, I carry my Sansa player. Great with Rockbox and good for radio, audiobooks and my own MP3's. Saves my phones battery as well, it needs no help with discharging.!

The Sansa Clip+ or Zip are great little players and come into their own when Rockboxed and the sound quality gives me the impression to be better than my phone when listening to the same track with the same headset. Playing Mp3 or Flac is no problem with stacks of features.

I have little choice but to continue to rip and add my CD collection etc to my Sansa with its 64GB Micro SD card if I wish to continue to listen to music that way, and I do.

Don't honestly remember the last time I bought a dvd or music cd.

I stream everything for free or download it all. Realistically I don't know how governments are going to control this in the future as it's not like anyone is hardly going to come around to your house and check your pc for how u got your music and stuff onto it.
