The next Nvidia Flagship card?

Priority access is a bit too vague a term. They probably have a guarantee of supply to some degree above that of a regular customer.

It won't if NVidia follow their marketing strategy they will launch small Pascal well into next year and the performance will be about 20% more than a 980 Ti.

Big Pascal will come later with much better performance.

20% is a good increase, but at the rate nvidia are going soon gpu's will be powered by a 9v battery. :p

Its going to depend on yields and Intel.

If Intel does launch 14NM Xeon Phi early next year,it might force Nvidia to push out big Pascal out as early as possible.

Keep wishing lol.

AMD have not even managed to get Fury X Fiji cards on the market in any real numbers, let alone the next generation of cards.

Unless Fiji is going to be a small volume part - even the AMD FirePro cards are Hawaii based. It means there is no professional market to back up any volume product of the chip I suspect. Plus every other card is a rebrand/refresh too. It wouldn't surprise me if Fiji was going to be 20NM.

Also looking at the fact they were originally going to have a range of cards on 20NM which was cancelled,I suspect they are probably trying to get onto a new process node as quickly as possible.

True, not even any news of Arctic Islands taping out yet (which with the nVidia press release I'm sure they'd like to put it out asap!)

I'd like to think I'm set for at least another 18 months, but knowing me I'll be buying a nice pair of something once they're out :D :p

I think Fiji will be a big volume part once AMD get the supply problems sorted. They are very good cards but some people expect too much. Fiji cards don't have voltage control yet which is a pain but for gaming @1440p or higher this is not a major problem. There have been plenty of comments about the noise of the AIO system yet when I use mine the PC I have tested them in is by far the quietest one out of the five PCs I use.

There is also the Nano to come yet which should be interesting.

People should stand back and only judge the Fiji cards in about 3 months time when the volts have been sorted, the drivers for the card/HBM optimised and the card is available in large volumes at a realistic price.

The Fury Pro is already a GTX 980 beater.

The Fury X if it starts punching it's weight (compared to a 290X) could turn out to be GTX 980 Ti beater at high resolutions.

AMD have priority on HBM2 - so it will be quite a while before NVIDIA are able to use it.

Do people just make up rubbish on the spot to support their favorite brand?

To be clear, AMD claim they have priestly. That may or may not be true, but availability for nvidia is an entirely different question. AMD don't have exclusive access, they're may get a priority of their is a ah shortage, and there is no sign at this stage that there will be. The knows is on Hynix to meet the demand. Nvidia may also approach samsung to supply HBM chips.

Keep wishing what? That you make twenty assumptions based on 0 inside knowledge of AMD's business strategy? Okay. Let's pretend like you know why AMD didn't make more Fiji cards & what they will do in the future and when.

Lets turn this around as you raised the issue.

Perhaps you can answer your own question above ?

I also think it is a safe bet that Pascal will be on the market before Arctic Islands.
