I'm crumbling...

Do you have something against Nvidia specifically? Or are you just an irrational AMD fanboy? Best to go with your head in either case.

So you feel the need to insult me because I bought a Fury X, which is 1% slower than a 980ti at 4k yet cost me 13% less?

I know a few people in this industry and apparently the people who code the voltage support and so on for GPUs did not get samples of Fury X, it's that rare. So, I am confident that with that and better drivers Fury X will eventually win in any case.

Now as for your fan boy comment? let me work it backwards for you.

Titan Black SLI
GTX 670 SLI
GTX 480 SLI
7970 (drivers did not work with my monitor)
6970 Lightning (died)
GTX 470
R 5770 CFX
GTX 280
8600 GT SLI

So as you can see, thankfully I have the brain power in place to be able to make my own mind up without being swayed by 'fan boys'. If anything I am an Nvidia fanboy (though again like I mentioned before not the rabid dog kind) but I was determined to punish Nvidia for the 970 fiasco so I have.

Maybe I will return to them in the future but I vote with my wallet, this time they lost me due to lying and then patronising thousands upon thousands of people.

And yes, I'm fully aware you can overclock a 980ti to make it conclusively a little bit faster but I don't care, given I'm pretty sure the AMD will meaningfully overclock in the future. FWIW I don't overclock GPUs any way.

Hahaha, mate, I've shown you multiple benches where an aftermarket 980ti is 30-40% faster than a fury X whilst costing 18-20% more, and out of the box so no need to manually OC if you seem dead set against doing it

This one percent justification is incredibly blinkered, its hilarious

I don't doubt that an OC 980ti will run quite a bit faster than a stock FX but for reference can you show a bench where that is the case? And make sure it's not at 1080P since it's not really of interest for a high end card.

Not a get at but why was you personally determined to punish Nvidia when as far as I can tell from your history you never owned a 970 hence it never effected you

What's even more crazy is the OP has a gsync monitor, so any dips would be smoothed out, but has switched to an AMD card with lower fps as well as losing out on gsync

So just because it never affected me I'm supposed to not give a crap?

Doesn't work like that.

That is pretty nuts, but it's his choice!!! :)

Indeed it is. And obviously the card is bought and paid for, but it's nice to see the spiteful posts desperately trying to make me feel bad.

And they wonder why people are dropping off like flies. Amazing.

Plenty of reasons to not want to buy Nvidia besides the 970 (which I indeed don't care about one bit).

Everything else aside, the main reason I buy AMD lately is because I'm terrified of this becoming a one player game. I just don't understand the mindset of the posters on here who seem to be so militantly pro-Nvidia.

Do you truly believe that Nvidia will behave in an entirely benevolent fashion when they have a completely captive market?

lol you can't buy amd purely out of fear that they're going to go bust, you should be buying things as a consumer that fit your needs not your conscience. They won't go down, at least not in the way some on here think they might, they have too many fingers in too many pies to vanish without trace.

Enjoy your FX Andy :)

I'm not pro Nvidia, I actually bought two Fury X's and a 295X2 in the past year, had to return the Fury X's due to the whinegate issue.

I agree AMD going under would be very bad for the industry, I just wish AMD would at least act as if they gave a toss.

Little things annoy like why no HDMI 2 support? no one bothers explaining why, all that we little people need to know according to AMD is it is not included, lack of crossfire support for latest games, again no communication just the drivers will be ready when they are ready! seriously annoying when you have spent £600 on a R295X2 only for it to be ignored constantly.

I've been AMD/ATi for aaaaaaages but I wasn't happy with the drivers/Xfire profiles so earlier this year I switched from my 295x2 to a pair of 980's. Was much much happier with the software support so kept with them and switched to a Ti (and then 2 :D).

I'll certainly be keeping an open mind once Arctic Islands arrive, although I doubt I'll be needing anything for the next 18 months or so (these cards cream everything at 4k )

HDMI 2 can be used if you use a displayport adapter.

Limited stock is due to limited HBM supply.

We do give a toss. All the feedback I receive is communicated to AMD. Things take time! And when it comes to drivers, yes AMD could release more drivers but they wouldn't be an acceptable standard. And reading several threads on here and on other forums, it looks like the green team are having driver issues as well.

If you have any feedback then DM me! I'll pass it on to AMD. If you have any technical issues then message me, I'll get our technical support engineers on it. They only things I can't do is lower the price of cards, talk about future products, give you free cards, and perform a strip tease at your birthday party :P

I'm happy to see people buying cards that they want and not being swayed by other people. It's that freedom of choice that's awesome whether you're after a 980Ti or a Fury X. As long as you can game they way you want then I'm happy.
