Windows 10

I've tried the fix in CMD, all updates are installed that are required, and still no Get Windows 10 icon?

Just go to the Windows FAQ page and download the iso that matches what you should get and run it that way. You dont need to do the icon thing.

Still no luck, even using the ISO from the Windows 10 FAQ thread. Every time it hangs on the blue windows logo after the first restart. Any ideas?

How long have you waited on the Blue windows logo for? Is their any sign of hdd activity or anything?

And if I do reset the machine it will probably come back with the same 0xc1900101 0x20017 SAFE_OS error I'm guessing.

Although the laptop is getting hotter than it would normally do if it was just sat idle. Hmmm.

and this will allow me to update from W8.1 as per usual?

Updated superbly guys! Cant believe how smooth it went. And activation!! Thinking of a clean install next. No rush though

My windows 10 upgrade nightmare is still continuing since I found that the first attempt failed with a C1900208 error code, and the two attempts that were made yesterday failed with the 80240020 error code and since the folder containing the upgrade files is under 4GB in size it looks like the download was incomplete and I have to do a but of purging and using a bit of BF+I to get it to start downloading everything again.

Also it seems that M$ have removed directX 9 support from windows 10 which would explain the incompatibility report for the 6600LE on my fathers computer.

Nope still doesnt do it

Still trying some other things lol. Couple of questions were you using a local or Microsoft account?

Also have you tried going to the target folder directly and creating a document? When I go through documents folder it doesn't do it but when I go directly to the folder location it duplicates.

Thanks :)

Why not do it this way:

Just curious but has anyone actually upgraded from the installation files that were downloaded to your C:/ without using any ESD or ISO trickery also excluding those who are part of Dreamspark or Windows insider programmes?
