I'm just glad it's not too hard to reinstall the W7/8 calculator in W10.

I'm glad they kept Win+X menu(ie right click in left bottom corner)amazing how many times I still use that even on Win10,still handy as ever

Me too, judging by the list of W10 problems on the OCUK Windows forum, I’ll leave it for a couple of months anyway.

Overall W10 sounds good though, sounds like they’ve got it mostly right. Satya Nadella sounds like exactly the sort of person that MS badly needed changing things. I can’t be too careful though after ME, W8 and *shudder* Vista…

Looks like Microsoft decided to download the Win 10 install to my hard drive even though I haven't reserved a copy and will be waiting to upgrade.

It's just a calculator in the same way that the Ford Edsel having a grill that looked like a vagaina was just one design flaw. In both cases thought those flaws were one part of a larger problem with a flawed design direction.

Does anyone know how to stop windows live mail opening up links in Edge? I want it so if I open any links via live mail they open in Chrome if it's possible?

Its a perfectly logical design direction. Have you tried using a pre Windows 10 Calculatior app on a small touch screen device?

Just because it doesn't fit with YOUR opinion, doesn't make it a flawed design.

Isn't it driven by whatever is set as your default app?

Probably same the same as ever change the default program/associate a file type with a program.

And there is the major flaw with the design, what works on one platform doesn't work as well on another. The Windows Phone calculator may work well on phones (it does, it also looks 100x better with the WP white text on black background colour scheme) but it's horrible on a computer and inferior to what we had.

It's the same story with the W7/8 picture viewer and the W10 app (luckily the W7/8 one can also be resurrected in W10 with a reg edit).

The worrying thing here is that in both cases Windows 8 provided both options, this is something that W8 got right multiple times and W10 got wrong multiple times, not a good way to start.

Why do that when you can just download an addon to reinstall the W7/8 one?
