The labour Leader thread...

The tory voters alone couldn't have given Cameron a majority, it was the "please not Ed" vote that gave him that. If Labour had had an electable leader they would have had more seats, the Tories less, and the would have been a Labour lead coalition in power today.

Blame your trade unions then they wanted Ed in charge of Labour for some reason.

corbyn is a long term play to bring David Milliband back.

corbyn win, completely destroy labour leaving the door open for david milliband to return the conquering hero with 2 years to go before the general election.

on this basis labour could get back into power at the next election.

this is my theory anyway!

First you need a winnable by election.

Then you hope he has kept a clean sheet in his time as a charity overseer in America.

Then you still have a discontented rump who would not like him.

Finally some good policies, quickly drafted.

Maybe by 2025 :D

Boris might win the Tory leadership.... what then?!!! :)

Interesting, but who'd vote for a party that can't even organise themselves; how are they ever going to be able to run a country?

I know I wouldn't.

I'd vote for Labour only and i mean ONLY if Corbyn is running, otherwise its just the same-old-useless-why-not-just-vote-Tory-anyway-party.

I suspect a lot of new Green and Nationalist party voters in the last election might return as well.

Damn - just missed Owen Jones vs that vile little ***** Toby Young on channel 4 news. Only saw the closing arguments and Young was flustered and rambling on about Venezuela so I imagine Owen won the day.

This will be Owen Jones who is now part of the 1% her derides after selling books to the value of £1.7 million attacking the establishment and those 1%

The Owen Jones that lambastes tax avoidance yet takes a fee from a newspaper that aggressively avoided tax.

The Owen Jones that helped to whip up the people of Greece in to a Frenzy and we have all seen how that panned out.

No not him, the other one.

After he clarified his stance on the EU, there's nothing about Corbyn I dislike. The only reason why Labour leaning right worked in the 90s was due to the rebellious anti EU conservative crazies. Those elements are out of the party now (mostly in UKIP) so Labour needs to go back to the left and Corbyn has the highest chances to achieve that.

Hmmm... Yvette Cooper's primary campaign option seems to be to proliferate overpopulation... so that's a no from me.

Liz Kendall... Harriet Harman fan, "Blairite"... ummm... no thank you.

Andy Burnham... random waffle... he won't do anything... no thank you.

Jeremy Corbyn... first potential leader I have considered voting for since before I even became voting age... up until now, I haven't even registered on the electoral role. He's caused me to register & join labour so I can help him get the spot. Oh dear...

LOL... he seems to be the first politician with the balls to see things through and a drive to do what's better for the majority rather than minority.

I could be wrapped up in bull****... he just feels different for a change.

It's about time we saw a politician willing to do the job rather than sit on their arse waffling for a good salary... first one I've seen in 30 years who might stand a chance.

Registered as a supporter too, will be voting for JC.

Best thing that has happened to Labour in years, Kendall and her ilk can **** off.

I hope Corbyn gets in :) From a conservative supporter.

Seriously you guys want this lunatic running the country? Spending before thinking and who would sink the country to Greece levels.
