Hi guys, has anyone heard of using soapy water when installing Schwalbe tyres? I thought maybe I had some counterfit tyres, as they have a terrible wobble, and also never seem to move up the fit lines at all points, I used high pressures, and refitted twice yesterday, but they seem to just get worse!
I then read some posts last night that people are advising using soapy water on the beads, and pumping up to max pressures, then dropping down to required pressures, and they should hit the fit lines. Is this really needed?
I was going to give it a try tonight, but wanted to check if I am wasting my times, and should just buy some better tyres!

Yes thats a fine method. It's also used to check for leaking with tubeless tyres 
You only need a drop or two at the most of Fairy (other brands available) though.

I used soapy water all the time, soft brush and brush the bubbles/water round the rim and the tyres and inflated with normal track pump until it pops on the rim. It will work - trust me!

That Airshot is cheaper, but obviously you still need a pump to go with it where as the Flash Charger is effectively both in one tool. Depends on how much you like your current pump innit.
Hey matt, have you tried the new blue one yet, Terry's Belly or something like that? Looks pretty good fun from their video, one of those with the option to go very fast and jumpy.

That stage is insane. I've ridden Whistler several times hitting all those trails and everyone generally stops a few times heading down the mountain to rest legs and hands and regroup. I think I'd need to have a long rest if I attempted that non-stop.Watched this twice already!

Interesting, noticed the banner but didnt give it much thought, just assumed 2016 product range release.
I guess it wouldnt be too much of a stretch of the imagination they make practically every other component on a bike.
have there been any spy shots of any suspicious droppers floating round? would have thought we'd have heard something about that kind of thing by now, afterall, trying to keep anything secret in the MTB world is nay on impossible these days.
A new BB standard would be greatly welcomed.

Found out about a night ride every thursday (with BBQ) at Swinley @ 6:30. I am going to head over this week, and have a go. I have my lights on charge, and really looking forward to riding at night in a group. Normally I am riding boring canal paths and roads on evening rides at the moment!
Speaking of lights - it's getting darker sooner. Once the clocks change (whenever that is) it'll be dark by about 4pm. I would like to get a properly good light for riding with.
I currently have a bright, and good light coverage chinese T6 or whatever it is Cree LED light, which I use on my road bike for blinding cars (well no, I cover it or point it down whenever anyone comes the other way or passes me.)
But the mount consists of an elastic band, which is why I can just point it down - it'd be no good for riding on anything other than tarmac.
I'm quite fancying a Hope Rsomething... as that seems to have a sturdy mount... but what else is there?
I'm after 3-4 hours of battery life and LOTS of light (potentially). Wouldn't always have to be on full power.
