Indeed. What he's actually suggesting is closer to Germany, a nation who invests in high tech industry & maintaining a high level of exports. A strong welfare state & wide level access to education.

He is not suggesting not taking any tax & high level corruption.
 
The problem with Blair's intervention is that he's fundamentally wrong.

Labour letting anyone who pays £3 to vote has opened it up to more people than ever before, and whomever is crowned Labour leader will be a person the people want to vote for, whether that be Corbyn or another candidate.

He might not be the wisest choice, he might not have the soundest of policy ideas, but at least he has convictions, at least he offers a genuine alternative to the Conservatives.

The only reason him becoming Labour leader would throw the party into disarray is because his MPs are already discrediting him and will not back him, and he'll never be able to command loyalty using party whips given his record of voting against the party.
 
He seems to belive what he says so that's a refreshing change and hopefully would mean he's less likely to bend to lobbyists pressure.

If he ever did become PM though he'd need a huge majority to prevent backbench revolts crippling his government. As I basically pointed out above, the public have warmed to him, but his party will throw him under the bus.
 
Nobody in the Conservative party is in the least bit concerned about Corbyn getting elected as leader of the Labour Party.

See, it's not a game, the kind of ping pong back and forth debates made on social media and Internet forums are not what's going on in the real world.
The working British public will not vote for a high tax, pro immegration, Islamic terrorist sympathiser.

He might not be those things in reality, but thats how it will be spun, extremely easily as well.
He will bleed the working mans support to UKIP if not the Tories.
 
My 2p:

As much as I dislike Corbyn, his policies and everything he stands for, at least he will be a decent alternative to the Blarite Tory-lite. It gives you the idea you have a choice, rather than which colour tie of centrist party to vote for.

However, as we've seen in the past with Labour, he who has the backing of the unions wins the votes. He will be forced to pay back that debt, and do what the unions want.

In a nutshell, I pray he never gets into government!

The voting system is totally different this time so the unions no longer have block votes.

Simon Danczuk, a figure on the right wing of the Labour party, has said the leadership race should be halted because of the way it had been conducted.

Asked on LBC Radio this morning whether plotting against Mr Corbyn “on day one” he said: “Yeah, if not before. As soon as the result comes out.

The Conservatives are rubbing their hands with glee.

They are going to paint him as a bloke who talks to terrorists, wants to tax you to the hilt, and wants to take the Labour party in the direction of Syriza in Greece.

Oh, and all using his own words from speeches he has made.
 
I can't quite get my head around the idea that the Tories are in any way worried about Corbyn. He's their dream opponent. He'll make almost no impact in England and will only split the left vote in Scotland.
 
He will solidify the Labour core vote but he won't appeal to those people who voted UKIP, he supports open door immigration.

Where I live, the votes that UKIP picked up would have seen Labour win the seat over the Conservatives.
