Seen a few links to this on Facebook and the like, basically hackers have apparantly uploaded a 10gb file containing full user accounts including credit card information etc on the dark net. If true a lot of people are going to be in for a world of hurt.

What do you guys think, is it right that people should be exposed like this?

It was uploaded on the 16th, very easy to find but of no use to me.

Someone had has even upped a searchable database page, alas I'm not in it :D

As far as cheating goes it is probably among the lowest forms

I mean say hooking up with someone on a one off, say drunk in a nightclub, at a friends stag/hen do is probably the least bad. Tis a one off stupid mistake, might cause the relationship to end, might just cause lots of humble pie to be eaten...

Falling for someone else at work, over time, a friendship becoming something a bit more... That probably is getting a bit worse, you didn't mean it to happen and but it isn't a random one off situation.

But actually going on a website and actively trying to find someone to cheat with - that is low even for a cheater - I'd wager that a lot of the people who cheat have either hooked up with someone on a drunken night out or fallen for someone over time but in either case weren't actively trying to cheat. Signing up to a website to intentionally look to do it is especially scummy.

What Dowie said.

Very low...

I don't think CC details (that is still a severe breach of the law) et al should be published but some naming and shaming doesn't seem a terrible outcome.

Fair enough, adultery is bad.

But what if you just signed up to look as part of some idle day dream? What if you were tempted but never went through with it? Is it right that those people should be leaked? Also there will be people who did cheat but have moved on to a new relationship/marriage and left that chapter of their life behind, should they be leaked?

The only difference is premeditation. Lack of premeditation is indicative of an inability to control ones thoughts and actions, which in my opinion is far worse.

apparently one of the biggest scam sites on the go - think I read something like 90-95% of users are actually men - many pretending to be women. not sure how true but sounds fun!

also, really don't agree with the releasing of the info. there are bound to be, as said above, those who have innocently bunged their details on for a laugh etc. what about the happy couple with the open relationship looking for a bit of swinging, is it fair their names and details are plastered all over the internet?

no this is just another little group of gimpy hackers trying to show the world how 'cool' they are while trying to claim they are social justice warriors.

If things are so bad you want to find someone else then do the right thing and end it before you start to look around,
Sadly i think most of the people on the site will never get found out as i would imagine the vast majority of people do not know how to find this info
