Another Job Centre Plus, sanctioning rant!

See now I've officially had it with Job Centre plus, it seems sanctioning me for 3 weeks for not turning up to an appointment I didn't know about and having to live off the generosity of friends, family and the local food bank wasn't quite enough for them.



It now turns out they've suspended my claim entirely because get this, I informed them I had an Interview on Tuesday which conflicted with one of their time wasting meetings but was told it's okay, you don't have an appointment Tuesday it's been rearranged for Wednesday. Only to find out today that guess what... I did have an appointment on Tuesday! Arrrrrrrrgghhhh!!!!!!!



So, no JSA payment or hardship payment for Vidar unless I can get this sorted out. My friends and family aren't in a position to keep helping me out and I'm now at the point where I can't go to the food bank again, you only get to use them 3 times a year wtf?, have no gas and barely any electric left. I'm so angry with this!


I'm now going down to the job centre and I'm going to sit there until I'm either arrested for trespassing after they've closed or they sort this damn mess out!
 
Don't worry, dowie, tefal and balky will be along in a moment to tell you it's all your fault.

Book at appointment at the citizens advice bereau to discuss the issues and also make a trip to the council as well and explain to them the hardship you're suffering, they can make arrangements for help (food banks, discretionary payments etc) and also contact your local MP and tell them what's happening. I hope you gte it sorted soon.

I would be willing to get together and help mate. Get you some food vouchers etc. Surely we can help this guy?
 
I feel for you buddy.

They're a bunch of idiots! I was disallowed a weeks money because I was 1 minute late for an appointment. I was made late buy one of the guys who directs you at the door because he was flirting with a female for 5 minutes before seeing me.

Hopefully you'll get it sorted.
 
Might be worth having a look for things you can sell to raise some cash, I know somethings you might not want to sell but short needs come first.

Probably, but he won't get any money while the appeal is going through, which doesn't help his current situation.
I'm surprised more people aren't turning to crime, at least you would get 3 meals a day inside.

Only way to get around them saying one thing and then doing another and then sanctioning you is to get everything in writing, they seem to be using sanctions to cover for incompetence in your case. If they would do this for you and I have no idea if they would, it would mean calling in person to rearrange any kind of meetings.

Trust email bank or paypal and I'll be happy to help out.
 
i feel your pain buddy, the whole JSA system is a joke. some people seem to be able to milk the system to its limit but people who actually follow the rules get dumped on from height.
 
The simple rule with the jokers at that place is to get ALL appointments in paper form... what they say on the phone means nothing, unless you have it in paper they will deny anything was said. Be it appointment changes or anything else.

They will ALWAYS deny they are wrong, unless you have a paper trail to prove it of course.

Sucks man, hang in there :(

The issue here is not the sanction, but a lack of common sense on the part of those making the decision. Such is often the case in the Public Sector.

Sounds bloody awful, get a job and then all your problems with JobCentre Plus will be over (oh wait maybe that's the whole idea of sanctions) ;)
