Why can't we have the right to bear arms in this country?
animal rights?
Why can't we have the right to bear arms in this country?
'When I confronted him, he attempted to stab me in the face with the key. In defending myself he was unfortunately seriously injured your lordship.
Once I had checked that he had indeed finally stopped breathing I of course called for the police immediately'
Why can't we have the right to bear arms in this country?
Just out of picture,so no proof, which I suspect this scumbags lawyer will be saying as well. But it's all been caught on dashcam!![]()
How do you know what is reasonable force in any given situation?
I suspect the person saying they would thump anybody who had keyed their car is stopping the damage, its already been done. Unlikely the perp is about to do another scratch if you have turned up and caught him therefore you thumping the perp is not protecting your property but is purely revenge.
You are perfectly within your rights to use force to prevent a crime. The law isn't so silly that you just have to stand there and politely ask them to stop.
If they then try to hurt you you can use what you think is reasonable force. Given they've got a key in their hand that's probably quite a high level.
Criminal damage is still a crime....
I'm amazed some people think you just have to stand and watch some destroy people's things and wait for the police.
Bet he never thought he would end up on the BBC news website as the #1 viewed video at the moment.
Man filmed 'keying £100k Aston Martin' in Hackney
http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-london-33967375
It would seem £100k cars have good cameras with sound installed.
you can however legally detain them till the police can attend
Allowed? Who the hell in this world has the authority to tell us that we are not allowed.Pretty sure you're alowed to defend your property and prevent crimes in the UK. ...

Risking prosecution from the police is not the same as not being allowed.![]()
Luckily the thought of him being nothing more than an illiterate jobless parasite his whole life that needs to count his pennies to survive to the end of the month is a pleasant enough thought. Hence the childish jealousy. I hope he gets taken to the cleaners.
Knocking someone out is not reasonable force.
Thought property=home, not a car, and remember they are not trying to steal it or break in, but just messing up the paintwork.
Given the evidence (where he lives, the brand of pram), he's almost certainly not an 'illiterate jobless parasite'.
Dunno why but I think it's almost worse than trying to steal it. That's just 'honest' theft. Keying the car is such a malicious cowardly thing to do that it's akin to spitting in someone's face - that's how much contempt they have for the owner.
So how much force is 'reasonable'? Do you know the difference in how hard you have to hit someone to warn them off or knock them out? Even then wouldn't it vary based on who was doing it? A boxer or trained person might but regular Joe public won't.
Baring in mind the type of character you're facing if they think keying a car is ok and they obviously have a key in their hand. If you've committed to physically stopping them then you'll pile in as hard as you can. Otherwise you might just get your own head kicked in for the trouble and they definitely won't be stopping to consider what's 'reasonable' to beat you up.
Obviously you can't beat the hell out of them after they've stopped resisting but of all the scenarios of getting physically involved a single knock out punch would be the best as it's least likely to result in your own injury!
Have you heard of housing benefit and the concept of buying stolen goods?
Given his choice of apparel, I say it's unlikely he has a high-flying job in The City.
Too judgemental on appearances. I know a couple of people with fortunes of 7 digits and they dress quite relaxed all the time. Almost scruffy looking you could say.
The 'knocking out' was in reference to previous posts, which you have obviously not read![]()
