I'm Stuck between too soon and sniggering

Unfortunate for all those involved

Any guesses as to what went wrong, pilot error or a fault during the manoeuvre?

Looks like pilot error, not enough altitude gained to do what he did. Either that or the plane wouldn't respond quick enough and he lost to much altitude.

To my untrained eyes it looks like he isn't carrying enough speed when he starts the climb, bleeds speed quickly and then gets it back again on the decent and simply runs out of sky. Terrible thing to see.

Hopefully the initial report should be out within the next week. Tragic either way. Like someone else said, these aren't run of the mill pilots.

The Hawker Hunter was taking part in an air show at the airport adjacent to the A27 when it crashed on to the road and ended up in a bush at 1.20pm on Saturday (22 August).

How big was the bush?

Or stalled due to mechanical fault?

Any plane in full working order would stall under those conditions, if you pull out of the dive before building up enough horizontal speed then the wings will stall and the plane will fall almost vertically with wings level, which it appeared to do in that video right at the end.

Jesus, imagine seeing that coming towards you. Very very sad :(

Holy crap that looks awful.

Despite having no knowledge of planes whatsoever, I would suspect it was a severe malfunction because I refuse to believe a pilot in those circumstances would steer the plane over a main road for the crash rather than into the trees. Either way, freakin' horrible - RIP.

Jeez, huge tragedy. Amazing clear photos coming through at the moment of the crash. Just further down the coast heading back from Bournemouth Airshow.

When I was a kid I saw a red arrow crash at Gt Yarmouth, engine failed and caught fire; pilot was epic in that he took his burning plane over the sea before ejecting.

I feel that Air shows should be done over the sea to reduce the risks for folks on the ground.

I was at the airshow, just walked back. It was really odd, we watched him look over then drop out of sight, then a explosion and a ploom of black smoke :(

Shocking lack of information at the actual airshow, they just weren't announcing a thing apart from stay where you are. No cars can leave from the main car park right now.

First day in 3 weeks I haven't driven along that exact piece of road at exactly that time!

Would have certainly gone to the airshow if football wasn't on today.

RIP
