The labour Leader thread...

Because Cameron's government is working? Or do you still occupy a dreamland where things get really bad and your saviour Nigel Farage steps in and fixes everything?

Yeah it's working, working quite well and far better than any Labour Government ever would, sure it could do with tighter controls like UKIP wants but the UK is doing far better then just about every country in the world apart from the US.

Or are you not even noticing what's going on in China and it's economy right now?

Not in recession, no mass unemployment, taxes getting lower, pay getting better, jobs market is good and getting better, low interest rates and low inflation, lower deficit every year which means more money for services in the long run down the road instead of paying interest....

....and now I'm just getting bored of typing but i could go on

Would you say this when all the money eventually runs dry and we are in a position like Greece.

I forgot labour supporters only think about today.

If you're making a point about sustainability then you're probably aware that selling off public assets, cutting expenditure in government departments and not really doing anything to encourage a productivity increase only really works as a one-time thing as well.

Pay hasn't improved for those on the NMW.

The debt has increased.

Osborne has cut money for public services.

No government is ever going to perfect, otherwise we'd be living in some kind of futuristic utopia. But hard choices have to be made otherwise we'd be no better than a 3rd world country and we have to protect our standing.

Of course debt has increased, but inroads have been made that wouldn't have and by 2020 we can start to finally pay some of it off, what, you thought Labour would wave a magic wand and make debt fall? LOL!!!

Also if income increases but rents and utility bills increase quicker then that's not an improvement.

Median disposable income is still below 2008 levels.

These hard choices, who is taking the hit?

If there is more money available for services, why are services being cut?

Cameron even admitted back in 2013 that a 'small state' is how he sees things staying. In the unlikely event that the Tories are around long enough to actually start running a surplus do you honestly think that they will suddenly start investing in public services? They didn't do it to kickstart the economy when it would have made sense, because they are opposed at a fundamental level to the state doing anything that a private company could do.

Just to say one point we've got a Tory government for at least 10 years, no way in hells chance that Labour are going to win 2020

If they had their way, there would be no public services.

They won't be running a budget surplus either, which it seemed like your timeline for increased public service spending was based on.

by 2020 we can start to finally pay some of it off

Come and find me in 2020 and if our debt has even started to be paid off I will give you £50. I don't think we'll be past running a deficit each year by then.
