Guys, i currently have an 11" i3 (N3530) Laptop with 4gig ram, SSD.

Now i quite fancy getting a 12 - 14" laptop with good spec that can also play the odd game (Euro Truck Sim etc). Current one is ok but limited as games do stutter with it even with graphics turned down to lowest.

Any pointers as to a good laptop with max screen of 14"

Budget, not sure just see what comes up as i have not a clue to look for with a laptop. Ta

Overclockers don't have them, but there is a 13.3" Clevo that houses a 960M along with (upto) an i7 with a 1080p screen. Clocks in at around £600 or so with an i5 inside.

Cheers guys. Never heard of Clevo.

They offer a vast array of CPU's! Bog standard is:

Intel® Pentium® Dual Core Processor 3550M (2.30GHz) 2MB Cache

That one pants? Would an i3 be better?

Hi koolpc,

There are a couple of options we offer under the AORUS brand:

There is small quantity of stock coming on each of those that are not in stock today.

Also, if they are a tad on the high end of the spectrum for what you need, we also have the Gigabyte P34:

Thanks but way over my budget as it looks like i can get a decent buid for a tad over £600

If you do a search for Alienware 13" there's a certain large online retailer selling them £300 cheaper than normal right now. Still over your budget a bit, but if you can stretch a little that would be a good deal.

Is this a good spec / Price:

Optimus 13.3" TFT Full HD 1920 X 1080
Intel i5 Dual Core i5-4210M (2.60GHz) 3mb
4GB Kingston DDR3 1600MHz x 1....................Upgradable to 8gig
Nvidia GTX 960M - 2GB DDR5
500GB SSHD SATA 6 64MB...................I would put my own SSD in.
6 in 1 Card Reader
Wireless / Lan Intel N-7260 (300mBPS, 802.11bgn) +
3 X USB 3 Ports 1 x USB 2 port
6 cell battery
Backlit keyboard
3 Year standard warranty
No Operating system as i have a spare Windows 8 retail

Would i notice a big difference between an i5 and an i7?

Dual or Quad?

You won't notice much of a difference between dual and quad. Most games still use only 2 cores efficiently, and the i5s have HT for 4 logical cores anyway. My i5 in my laptop runs pretty well on CPU intensive games.

Ok, so i5 is the way forward. So my spec here should play any game i suppose?#

That looks good to be koolpc. Will play whatever you want it to on medium/high settings within reason (don't expect witcher 3 on full settings!). I would get the 8gb to start with if you can afford it mind.

Post back when you get it and give us some pictures!
