Just ground 2800xp on my main steam account in arms race(to get weekly ****** cobble drop). Winning probably 85% of the games took 99mins according to steam.
So essentially rank 3 through would take about 8 hours of Arms Race. I need 4000 to hit rank 3 actually on my alt so ill play some casual now and see how it goes.
Edit: Casual was paying about 600xp a game but taking about 20-25mins to do whereas arms race was taking 8 minutes to win a game for about 280xp

i cant be bothered with that much game time so bought the coin for 2 quid. not sure how long it will take but you get extra bonuses with the coin so i assume it will take around 1/2 the time
from experience after 2 losses and about 3 draws I was getting matched with higher ranks but they just didn't seem to be any good. Maybe they was about to be de-ranked or something.
I'm leveling a smurf at the moment, my experience has been;
- First 2 games against GN1/GN2
- 24 hour cooldown for 'calibration'
- Next games were all AK/Double AK/DMG
- When getting to 6 wins, 24 hour cooldown for 'calibration'
No idea what ranks I'll be up against next, judging by the above trend probably DMG to LEM, but that's complete guesstimation!

No not at all, I actually hate playing at lower ranks with a passion*.
Got some mates at work that are big LoL players but want to get into CS, so as they are super super bad I got to get a nice low rank to play with them and teach them.
Rarest as in how little there are out there? Impossible to know.
People always said that a FN ST Karambit CW with a lot of webs (the most expensive) was never unboxed. Then again, this was before the dragon lore and stuff.
The rarest skin must be a knife. Knifes are only unboxed. All guns can drop, be unboxed or uncased. Knives are only unboxed. Also, % of getting a knife is smaller than the % of getting any weapon.
Knife is the most rare but some gun skins can only come from the case. I'll look up in the in game drop guns but they are all cheap as we have millions of players even at odds of 1000 to 1 collectively people get them often.
Actually, it's confirmed that you can obtain any item from these collections:
Bank
Dust 2
Italy
Lake
Mirage
Safehouse
Train
And you can't obtain any item from these collections (except trade up contract and missions):
Alpha
Assault
Aztec
Dust
Inferno
Militia
Nuke
Office
Vertigo
All cases still drop, although seems like all cases before phoenix have a very low drop rate.

As of today, we’ve swapped out all of the original weapon drops – out with old and in with 90 new decorated weapons, across six new collections. All you have to do to find them is launch CS:GO and play; they’re all dropping right now.
This bravo case one is rare as bravo operation was like 2 years ago and theres only about 1500 cases openly available
The wear range (float) at the top shows FN is rarely dropped and its never perfect so add in stat trak and the chances of seeing Fire serpent is very low so its about $2,000
Only way to get more rare is a skin which doesnt drop, has no case for it and the map is so old its not really part of the game. So its impossible to get during a major lan but for example like cobblestone comes that way (its a main map)
These weapon skins came from special missions in the past. Like militia hunter M4 skin I cant remember how people got it but you cant now.
Again the float shows FN is very rare on top. The skin itself isnt great so its not super expensive I guess
Knives are rarer still, I dont know which but sometimes its like a one of a kind and it goes for $10,000
Devs can give special items to certain players, I think they get pins for winning a major. You cant sell or duplicate your in game badge for winning a major afaik but if theres only 5 made, I guess that's the rarest inventory item
