I've got a 5c from vodaphone, quite new about 2 months.
I sold my wife's S4 and she was intending on using the 5c but when we slotted in her sim we realised it's locked to Vodafone. She doesn't have a phone therefore and is panicking as she needs a working one by Tuesday for various reasons (work related)

Anyway - I've been pulling my hair out trying to get it unlocked. Vodafone won't do anything till its at least 12 months after purchase. Third party services I've tried are quoting 50 quid and 14 working days...utterly ridiculous.

Can anyone recommend a verified quick (24 hour or less) cheaper unlocking service?

Voda will unlock a phone under 12 months on contract for £19.99. Not sure who told you otherwise.

There is no such thing as a quick unlock service when it comes to iPhones even when it comes to getting it done through the network it's locked to as they have to send a request to apple to have the IMEI number of the phone added to their database of unlocked devices, and these unlocking services have to have someone in the inside to get the job done since they won't have the ability to get the unlock done through regular channels as that (I think) can only be accessed by the networks.

As above, the best way is via the network. Apple makes it frustratingly annoying to unlock iPhones.
