If that is Dana's ploy then I can see it backfiring badly tbh!

Ronda judo-throws and then armbar's Holm inside 4 seconds for the win leaving everyone disappointed that she's not been tested....again.

Tate perhaps takes on Zingano or Correia in the meantime and could very easily slip up against either one - leaving, erm, no-one as the number one contender!?!? :confused:

I don't see why Dana didn't go ahead with the already announced Tate vs Rousey III fight, giving Holm time to at least cobble together a semi-decent winning streak and then build up to the "best MMA fighter" vs the "best boxer in MMA"

Agreed, and apparently so does the UFC since it's fallen from headlining a PPV to the co-main on a Fox card.

Holm is getting paid considerably more than most of her peers and hasn't been providing the exciting KOs the UFC was probably expecting, I suspect they just want to feed her to Ronda so they can get rid of her and she can return to boxing.
 
The HW division was looking good when Cain beat Lesnar and was on top of his game. After his loss to Werdum, it's starting to look washed up again with no exciting prospects in sight!
 
It wouldn't surprise me if we see Cormier returning to HW if Cain fails in his rematch with Werdum. The only reason Cormier cut to 205 was so he didn't have to fight Cain for the belt and I think he has a good chance of taking Werdum. Then again I see most of the HW division matching up well against Werdum. His stand up his improved but its not something that I think many people will fear and he doesn't really have the takedowns to bring a decent fighter to the mat. Don't get me wrong once he gets them there he is a beast, but I can see him being stifled and beaten by a good standup fighter with decent TDD.
 
getting a bit sick of this Rousey - Mayweather stuff,
tbh id beat the **** out of Rousey, her trying to goad Mayweather is just boring BS
her striking sucks as shown by her last fight, sure she won.. but she still cant punch with accuracy

The trouble is, no one can get anywhere near beating her. I still think the only person who will come close is Tate. I think Cyborg would struggle too. The first stumbling block is that I don't think she can make the weight!

maybe so, but just that she's beaten them all in her division doesnt mean she could beat Mayweather! like i said, her spat with Mayweather is boring BS,
it'l never happen and if it did he'd beat the **** out of her

Wouldn't say that. Stipe is pretty solid. Dad bod Mir is on a mini resurgence, Arlovski is beasty as well. Josh Barnett is fighting for the first time in a couple of years. Granted there are few young guys but what there is makes exciting matches.

Biggest announcement was they are going to make another announcement after the Mir Arlovski fight. :rolleyes:

starts 9th of Sept (USA time) our (UK) time will be 3am-4:30am 10th Sept BTsport 2, re-run at 10pm-11:30pm (UK) 10th Sept
tvguide.co.uk have it listed as the blackzilions V's american top team... but im 99% sure thats just a mistake they made in their listings as that was the last series (which was pretty crap :p)

Pretty good card that one tonight.

Dodson is probably one of the very few guys that has a legitimate chance to beat DJ, with his power, but I still don't think he will get the job done.

Arlovski Vs Mir has the potential to be a slug fest ala Browne Vs Arlovski, plus Johnson vs Manuwa that should be good as well.

Looking froward to it.
