The EU Migrant Crisis

I understand there is a crisis,But i think its just an excuse for them all to just come over here and that's it.

No offence mate but are all the dogs barking in your kennels? You get there is a crisis but hey, its just an excuse to come to Britain?

For a start they're not all trying to come to Britain, and before anyone says it... no I'm not a self hating white English person at all, just someone who believes everyone has the right to a better life. Try to imagine however hypothetical that say the welsh or scotts became militant and start ethnic cleansing of white English Christians, they murder your family, rape your sisters, daughters etc, steal your possesion and you flee, you like everyone else heads either for the west coast, hoping to make it to Ireland or down to Dover with a view of getting to France or even Germany and Spain.

You all cram into dangerously over crowded vessels, even cobbling together make shift rafts or using far from sea worthy boats etc, People you know die on the way, maybe your wife or your Dad or your kids but its a chance at life you know if you stayed put all of you would be killed. Somehow you make it to your destination only to be told you're not welcome, but they can't send you back so you get stuck living like animals in makeshift camps etc

How do you feel then? When people start saying their culture is superior to yours or you don't deserve healthcare or food or a place to put your head at night thats safe. Even if you can contribute, you might be a trained nurse, or mechanic hell even a barber but yeah you're not welcome.

Our local council is already laying off staff on a monthly basis as they have horribly mis-managed their funds and almost bankrupted themselves

But then I doubt any of them will come our way, since they all appear to be head to London (the multi-culti paradise that it is).

Yup, Council my way are in a £30 million hole with £40 million pound of saving being made over a course of the last 5 years. Still the cuts are coming.

Staff that leave not being replaced, job roles being changed to sessional rather than full time. Most contracts are now fixed term/temporary etc.

London's only multi-cultural in the minds of Guardian readers. In reality, you've got areas that predominantly settled by one group who want nothing to do with other groups or the indigenous population.

I understand what your saying,BUT.. the way i see it,These people and im not just talking about the Syria situation,Im talking about poverty stricken countries too..they need to sort themselves out,Sort the problem out for themselves..not just run away and do nothing about it and expect other countries to sort their problems out for them...that's the way i see it.

We've got to the situation where the police are driving around in 1.3l Vauxhall Corsas that cost £8k each because of cost cutting. How the hell are they going to be able to deal with the inevitable rise in crime that will follow these migrants?

as i said in the previous thread about the issues in france, why do some people get offered an in but yet people like my gf cant come in because i dont earn enough money to support her, even though she will be earning more than me once working, is american and is educated to degree level. but nope not allowed as i need to earn more money.

now not saying we are in the same boat as people leaving a war torn country, but yet again being a uk citizen means you still have to jump through hoops but if you turn up with no paper work and claim to be on the run from someone in a warzone (with no proof if you are or not) you stand a chance at getting let in.

Here's the point though mate whether people care to admit it or not, it's the west that's largely responsible for destabilising these regions in the first place.... but okay lets imagine there is a country that doesn't have a serious humanitarian crisis like ethnic cleansing or something but just an extremely corrupt governing body that controls everything, there's no such thing as democracy here, you're worked to the bone, there's no infrastructure to speak of every aspect of your life is poverty stricken and unless there is a coup or revolution that would be bloody and violent, where chances are another group of tyrants would get in anyway what is a normal everyday person, with little no education and no military experience to actually do other than flee?

Got to laugh at what Bristols Mayor said on the BBC news app this morning.

Councils are finding homes for these people yet our own people have to go on a HUGE waiting list and many of our people are homeless because of this.

Disgusting. Any non native Brit should be at the bottom of the housing list, or preferably not on it at all until our own are housed. Even better, work on farms where basic accommodation is provided, picking something like fruit to earn food & keep. See how many come then.

Alternatively mooching gimme-grants should completely meet their accommodation needs by couch surfing liberals' houses, let them deal with it.

Btw the police down here have really downsized over the last years. Stations are closing, staff being cut. Won't need all those expensive cars if we get rid of all the police who were driving them

You've described a fair few places in Africa that have been like that for /decades/, yet we've not had this 'crisis' until now... why is that?

But I do agree that we've buggered up a lot of these ME places by removing strong leaders and leaving them in chaos.

Look I'm not saying for one second that there is no disparity to address in Immigration to this country but simply put you're right your girlfriend is not fleeing a war torn country with no prospects of supporting herself, and if she was she'd probably be allowed in but she's hardly helpless or desperate other than being drived by the heart.

You're right you don't fix instability in the middle east by destabilising Europe but despite the fear mongers there is little to no chance of Europe being destabilised. The thing is immigrants have been fleeing places for hundreds of years, why are we having this crisis now though because its popular in the media where it wasn't before but also because we are directly responsible for destabilising two very large regions of the middle east in the past decade or so that we're now feeling the true ramifications of.


Here's the thing in a previous thread I argued what needs to happen in these regions to re-stabilise them however nobody is interested in that either as apparantly decades of poor foreign policy perpetuated by us and the west have nothing to do with us now.

Immediately? As in within a week?

Logistiically, I think we'd be limited to around 10k.

We have theoretical mass evacuation plans that can deal with up to 250k at short notice, but I don't think that's an appropriate response and the plans have never been tested extensively, so things would undoubtably go wrong pretty quickly.

In the medium term, 100k before christmas is acheivable.
