Turns out it needs a Zoostorm OEM windows diskI was only trying to help a mate out seems too much of an arse ache.
Have you tried an MSDN image?
I've got the same sort of problem, I only have a 32bit disk but am after 64, I tried speaking to microsoft, they were far from helpful and told me to speak to the manufacturer, so I think I will try one of those links above. Its so much easier to get a dodgy version than a legit one, even with a code

I had a OEM W7 disk which was installed using 32 bit version which I then done a re install using a 64 bit version and worked fine for me and activated. even done the W10 upgrade after
Yeah thats what I have done, hence I need to get a 64 bit version before I upgrade to 10, but it's not proving that easy, hence I'll just download one above before I upgrade to 10. Would have been nice if it was easier to get a download though
That's what I do. Only the key needs to be legit.
There is a 64bit Win7 OEM AIO on there right now which would work for him.
