What's Next For You?

The Touring is always 6 months behind the Saloon. F10 deliveries commenced March 2010, F11 late Sep 2010 :)

BMW are like clockwork with new model cycles.
Anyone hear that echo ^^^ that is what I just posted.
Two years from now and next gen 5 Touring deliveries are happening.

Decided after it was (somewhat) fixed that since I've pumped so much money into it already that I could just be selling it to buy another car with just as many issues.

30th anniversary has the bigger K04 turbo, injectors, high pressure fuel pump etc etc. Yes and no. It would be a bonus if the oil consumption was fixed, but I'm looking more into the limitations of tuning with the stock turbo vs the one from the s3/30th anniversary/cupra. 280bhp is about the absolute max a K03 can handle whereas just a remap will send any of the cars listed above straight to 300. As I said for now it's purely just a shopping list, but having looked on a few forums the engine should cost around £1300, which is much cheaper than buying the parts separately and putting them on my engine.

Alternatively, I do have a massive hard on for jap cars every time I go to trax + recently Japfest2, so that maybe an option instead of tuning this car.

Very true and sensible - any used car can cost money! Is yours mapped at the moment? Mines at circa 250 and I just don't know if I'd want any more power in that chassis - I know some suspension mods would help but I don't see 280bhp as a real world limitation :)

Really depends what else is happening in my life. Currently I have 0 need for a car other than convenience, if this carries on then I'm very tempted to move to an E46 M3 when it comes time to buy a house to free up some funds. If things go well financially then an F10 M5/F12 M6 would be nice, but even with the current M3 I'm very conscious of depreciation/interest on the loan, so think I'd struggle to tell myself it's a good idea to buy something £lol on da finance again.

If sensibilities need to happen then a Range Rover of some sort might be needed.

As I am saving up to get on the ole housing ladder I suspect I shall stick with the Mito for a little bit longer as I don't believe car finance looks good on the ole mortgage application (I'd be happy to be told otherwise). Planning a few little mods and a spruce up to keep me vaguely interested for the next couple years. After that I'm thinking either a Z4 (E89?) or a GT86 if I don't require sensibleness. If I do then a Golf Gti Mk6 or focus st will probably the next on the list. 2 years is too far away really so I suspect this will all change and I'll end up in another alfa or something equally silly.

Depends on work really! At the minute I'm considering a giulia, 5 series or possibly a cayman s.

I really don't know. I love my ST, so should I go for more power? Or get a Mk.2 RS?

Then there's the possibility that I might just move away from it totally. I do like the look of the E90 M3 but that might be a pipe dream. I also like the Monaro VXR.

When the time comes it's going to be a case of driving the stuff on my shortlist.

Probably a JZX100 Mark II, I love a big body Toyota and you can screw a lot of power out of the 1JZ unit. Definitely want considerably more power than the S15.

Jaguar XE. Just waiting for them to be affordable on the second hand market. If my 330d doesn't make it that long, I fancy a 3.0 Z4.

Probably getting rid of one of our cars next! Currently working in town and get the bus (easy, quick, no parking headaches, free bus pass from work, etc) and my Camry has been driven once (down the road) in about 5 months. About the same time we got a Nissan Pathfinder as our family wagon (completely awesome, btw) so now we just don't need 2 cars. If it looks like I'm going to be working at the same place for the foreseeable future (I'll know within the next month) then I'm just going to sell the Camry. Shame as it's been a fantastic car.

Probably an estate or at smallest a 5 door hatch of some sort

I'd like a nice f11, but realistically I don't think spending the kind of money needed to get one with a decent engine will be on the cards over the next year or so. Nothing in the more realistic ~£10k bracket really makes me that interested (well nothing I would actually buy)

I ask myself this question every time I get in my dad bus...
What I'm looking at is getting a smart roadster brabus for the in town/trip to work and to work sites... Then when the Volvo gives up go for a t5 caravelle or something.
Other option is to go for a decent estate and stick with the one motor

Interesting, saw one of these the other day and thought it might be a decent family mobile, not sure how practical they are in the city tho?

McLaren 540/570 is what I have my eye on, don't really need much more power than the 525 bhp R8, just fancy the looks of a McLaren but don't want to give up the manual gearbox again just yet!
