Windows 10 for Phone

I'll keep an eye out. In the meantime Here Drive+ will suffice.

Do you use navigon in landscape or portrait ? It seems most dedicated satnav hardware is landscape, but I've only ever seen mobile phone users use portrait.

landscape, who uses portrait, other than for phone, whish more apps had landscape support.

still pretty dog slow on a 520, but then again that is old and low spec now.

and I hope the rumoured landscape start screen is true. it's annoying when browsing in landscape and you go back to start and it's all side ways, everything should have both settings.

Why are some apps on this so slow to get notifications compared to apps on other platforms? Twitter for example, if i get a dm or whatever it can take 15-20 minutes after the fact before i get notified of it. Sometimes i've already read it on my pc and a few minutes later my lumia chimes in telling me i've got a message or a mention or whatever. With twitter on ios or droid its virtually instant.

I've checked through the options i don't seem to be able to find anything that would account for how slow it is to notify me of things. The instagram app is woeful, barely has any functionality at all compared to the ios and droid versions, apparently the devs just can't be arsed updating it? 6tag isn't bad but can be glitchy on occasion.

Annoying how badly some apps lag behind the same apps on other platforms :(

I've been using Here Drive in portrait for about 2 yrs now, maybe longer ! It works well in that mode, but next time I get in the car I'm going to try landscape.

lol you've been suffering for 2 years, i can't and don't understand why you wouldn't try it in landscape.........?

Yes I'll try the 640XL that way. Portrait has seemed more obviously natural to me which is always why I and others have used it , you can see a fair way ahead. In landscape, all the space to the left and right is largely wasted surely, and you can't see much of the road ahead. Anyway, what caused me to question this approach is that all the dedicated satnavs are landscape, so they can't be wrong !!

That is very interesting. Wonder if they actually mean w10 mobile and how you install it. Or as it's an Intel atom, di they just mean you could install w10 desktop o's on it.
Got a Chinese android phone in the way to try,
Windows phone really needs a lot more OEMs. For choice.

Well tried to update my N920 earlier and its pooped.
WPRT doesnt work either, keeps coming up with Operation ended with failure message..

Managed to get it up and running again..

Press and hold Power and Volume up until it vibrates, then hold Volume Down until you get the !, then Volume Up, Volume Down, Power, Volume Down, It should then vibrate, erase the data* and restart the phone.

From there you will obviously have to install your apps etc back and upgrade it back to the latest build..

*Dont come crying to me if you havent backed your phone up, you are running preview software on it for a start..
