Alex Salmond: A second Scottish referendum is inevitible

They may have won the battle but they haven't won the war.

And given the SNP and independence supporters don't seem to be willing to accept they lost the vote just a tad over a year ago, and are pushing for another one soon, I suspect it could be a very long campaign.

And who says we'd lose if Scotland became independent?

Exactly. If the unionists had truly won and had us beaten, they wouldn't be bothering to come here and argue with us. Although they will never admit it, deep down they are scared. They know when we have the next referendum (which is all but guaranteed) there is a good chance they will lose.

We know their tactics. We know who their supporters are. We know how inept their campaign team is (turning a 70% majority into a 55% majority). We know they basically have no grass roots campaign. We know that time is not on their side (vast majority of NO voters are aged 60+).

We know. And so do they! :D

my irony meter just exploded when I read that.

I don't remember any of the "unionists" resorting to a poor stereotype posting style for weeks.

I don't know what you mean. I was just speaking my mother tongue. I was taught to be ashamed of the way I spoke by the state. I have since learned that you should be proud to speak your mother tongue. Seeing as we are discussing my home land I thought it appropriate to write the way I speak on this thread. I noticed people were having issues with that so reverted back to the language of our rulers. Or something. :D

And given the SNP and independence supporters don't seem to be willing to accept they lost the vote

Nice little bit of unionist lying going on there! You know that is untrue yet you still spout it.

Even I, a die hard Scottish nationalist, fully accept that we lost the referendum a year ago.

There is nothing contradictory or hypocritical about wanting another though.

You seem to be missing the point, it was a majority of Scots who made their feeling felt on the subject and they rejected your parochial view of the world, not the vast majority of posters in this thread. It's an interesting insight into your view of the world that you believe that the majority of Scots who voted democratically are either scared Unionists or too poor, wee or stupid to have understood what they were voting for.

Nationalist arrogance at it's very best...

... and if you'd have won, you'd be in your own country now.

What I was trying to convey was that we may have been beaten last year but it was hardly a conclusive victory for the NO side was it.

It was a bit like two sides going to war and during the first battle one side killed 10% of the other but both sides retreated after that. The side that suffered the losses regrouped and have actually come back stronger than before. The winner of the first battle have actually lost support and go into the second battle with similar numbers as the opposition.

I wonder what historians in a few hundred years will think when they look back on these historic times?

Scottish history lessons will be about the great battle between good and evil. The forces of good lead by Saint Nicola of Irvine versus the evil Cameron of Eton, leader of the notorious cult of the dead pig shaggers.

I am sure they will make a movie about it.

Or yet another story of a son of the doughty Clan Cameron of the Western Highlands defending the will of his Scottish brothers and sisters against the despotic attempts of evil Nicola, descended of English stock from Sunderland from trying to grab power despite the brave Scots democratically expressed wishes.

Its undemocratic. You don't just keep trying again until you get the answer you want. That's not democracy, is dictatorship.

just to point out here, you seem to be mistaking this thread on a computing forum for some great political stage as if either side is arguing to change the course of history.

It's not we post in here because we're bored on the bog.

Or its kinda like two groups decided to vote on an issue and the side that didn't get what they want is stamping their feet saying "it's not fair do it again!!!"

Throwing their toys and dummies out the pram too.

We're only gonna do this once...if we win

Complete and utter ignorance.

You are wrong. If you read this thread from the start it has been discussed in depth why you are wrong.
Actually you are wrong and the vast majority of Scots voted to prove you so in a proper referendum, not some vague poll of 3 people and a dog outside a Celtic game. :)

Lol. The only folk throwing their toys out of the pram are the unionists screeching "but but but you can only have a referendum once in a generation waaaaaaaaa!"

We can smell blood!:p

How quaint.

We don't need to make up wee daft videos to win support. Unionist lies and backfiring propaganda do all the work for us.
