What internet speeds do you guys actually get?

Over wireless.

Only get around 38Mbps max round here, but I'm quite happy with that, never slows down or lags in games, and is rock solid (uptime is currently 20 days which was when I last rebooted my router due to changing some settings).

This thread reminded me though, I keep meaning to call BT to lower my plan from Infinity 2 to 1 as the only difference is the max speed, so there's no point in my having plan 2. When doing this I also noticed they have suddenly started charging me £5 per month for BT Sport which they didn't let me know about and I never use! So that's cancelled now & a refund for the last 2 months on the way :)

On my work PC at the moment (which is also where I come when I have a fairly large download/upload that needs doing, or if I need to re-install windows/updates/games etc :p )

At home I get a poxy 14 Mbps / 1 Mbps which is quite frustrating when it's shared by ~10 devices - joys of awful cabling from the cabinet and the exchange being 4+ miles away.

44 down / 7 up, paying for Infinity 2. The green cabinet I'm connected to is quite far down the road and not even the closest one (the closest one is connected to a different exchange as well). Can't do an accurate speed test at the moment as it's being used at the moment by the family :p.

Zen 80/20. It would probably be a quicker result using a server closer, but wouldn't really have any relation to actual everyday use.

Sky 40/10

Transferring files at the minute. It's normally 38.5/9.5 as I'm about 20 metres from the cabinet.

OP, run the test again, 0.02 is basically not working..

It's a bit slow yeh I keep meaning to do something about it but it's the best we can get in our building. The house I live in is a VERY old apartment block and the wiring going from my apartment to outside is at least 100 years old (it uses the original round phone connector things) but BT/Openreach say they won't replace it because it's not their responsibility and the people who own the building won't replace it (they won't even replace a collapsed ceiling in the communal hall). Most ISPs won't sell us broadband as our quoted speed is about 200kb max, it took months of bargaining with TalkTalk to have them install an internet service here (BT wouldn't go near us and could only offer us dialup) and we had to sign something to say we understand that the service will be slow/unreliable. It's better than nothing though

I've seen threads like this in Reddit but these mostly include US or EU connections which as we all know are infinitely better than ours and wondered what sort of speeds UK users 'actually' get these days.

You can go onto www.speedtest.net to find out although it may not complete (it doesn't for me) so you'll just need to take a screencap

Here's mine (N1 London)

That is so slow that walking to the library for information is probably faster :D

Dont care what the guy says, that test is not even running its stuck after ping test.
you can clearly see download and upload have not even started as there not highlighted either.

suggest using another server or test.

Sky fibre pro package. Works well for me.

Solid and reliable, 90+ day uptime since which was a reboot, happy as larry.

Infinity 2, just under max sync on downstream. I have no complaints about the service. Been fine for me since I've had it, even my line fault was fixed fairly quickly.

It never really gets past that point, it sometimes goes to 0.3 or even 0.4 on good days but I've never gotten it to complete. I tend to use my phones lte internet tethered to my pc for downloading large things.
