Ain't got the taken King yet, but may get it.

Just been playing through the wolf expansion, and up to the arena bit and I'm struggling. I'm level 34 with 167 light, and tried to do the level 32 arena and says recommend light 160, so I'm fine for that. But I find it really hard, am I missing something? I ain't done all the quests yet, will I get higher light from armour and weapons from doing the quests?

Is it meant to be that hard lol?

Prison of Elders is meant for three players. If you solo it, you're very good. :D
 
Just got a double exotic drop in one of the level 36 strikes!

Lucky u, did you use a three of coins?? Or just did without using one?? I used one on a strike last night, the alak hul one in the dark...got a crest of alpha lupi armour piece.
 
Using a three of coins? i've decided to invest my coins in these rather than the exotics xur sells to keep things interesting.

Are level 36 strikes as rewarding as the lvl41? Seems you could probably steam roll through these at light lvl 290+
 
I was using a three of coins yeah. One of the engrams decrypted into Invective, I've had about four of them, the cryptarch must think I like them!

I got 2 exotic drops twice the first weekend xur sold 3 of coins.

I also took a pic the first time it happened but second time I never bothered.

There should really be a trophy for that or something.
 
So whats the deal with the taken war earth patrol quest? Do i need to be in a fireteam to do that? Apparently the quest line ends with a nice scout rifle which i would like to get

You don't have to no, its just easier of course. You might lucky with randoms or its possible solo but running around killing 3 lieutenants before they get bored is a pain, then the boss takes a bit of doing.
 
Cripes. I've just seen someone using Eris's Calcified Fragment quest scout rifle. I didn't think it was possible to get it yet. :eek:

I used 3 of coins in 9 strikes yesterday, got a grand total of naf all! (of use anyway!)

At any time really, I usually use one just before the end boss. They don't have a time limit on them so pop one just as you start a strike or wait till the end boss then pop one. It's not guaranteed u will definitely get one off the first one u use, today I used about 5 before one dropped and it was a titan chest armour which kinda sucks as I'm a hunter but sharded it for later use, if I want to infuse one of my weapons o armour pieces.
 
Lol oh dear, doing a vanguard strike and it just happens to be the rasputin one...so the other 2 leave...what a pair of wimps lol. The joys of being paired with randoms lol.
 
I didn't realise it was possible to get 300 light blue gear, but I managed to snag one yesterday on my Titan. Wouldn't mind a few more of them to infuse into my other gear!

I have seen them but have yet to get any myself. Was it from an engram or was it a direct drop?
