No brainer for me, if i save mother than my son doesn't have a mother. He is more important than i am and has a lot longer to live than i do.
 
Girlfriend vs Mother = Mother.

Wife vs Mother = Wife.

Average lifespan would dictate that your mother would have circa 30 years less left on the planet anyway so you are saving more years by saving the younger one.
 
Surprised by poll so far, any long term relationship would make far more sense saving your partner.
Although possibly down to wording of poll.

  2. She has more life to live than my mother
  3. I couldn't look my children in the eye knowing I had chosen my mother over theirs.

What if you have been with your girlfriend for say 10 years and, you planned to marry that women? Still choose mother because you aren't married?
 
No option for 'save yourself and use any inheritance for attracting an upgrade'?

What's happened to GD these days.
 
Depends, how long have you been with your girlfriend? long term or short term? children or no children? relationship with your mother? how old is your mother? Are there any circumstances to this hypothetical choice? Why must we choose?

There is no correct answer.
