So I proposed over the weekend, she said yes. YAY!

Turns out the ring is 2 size too large. (Measuring finger in the middle of the night is tricky)

I've managed to make arrangement for the jewellers to replace it with a ring of the right size, rather than resize as they've got one in stock. All done within 2 days without any cost on my part, as opposed to paying £10-£50 to get it resized - with the risk of compromising the integrity of the ring.

What does the missus-to-be say? No, it's not the same ring I proposed with and flat out refused that option I've arranged.

WUT?! :confused::confused::confused:

I proposed without a ring as I knew Mrs Cheesyboy would have a similar outlook. We then chose it together.

Didn't do your homework. Do you even know this woman :p

Read between the lines - she doesn't like the ring, sees it as an excuse to get another one (probably double the cost).

Get out of there now before the next time you buy a house the same thing happens:
"No Steven, we can't just paint the walls! It's not the same house! We'll need to buy a new one... The new one should have twice as many bedrooms."

She doesn't want a smaller ring, as now you are gonna get married she wants the leeway to be able to pack a few pounds.

Edit: Damn, beaten to it.

She is planning to eat lots of Cheeseburgers to make it fit.

I chuckle but we both work for haribo, so I suspect it'll be "eat lots of Haribo rings" to help...

I did think of that but a physical ring is better than say a Haribo, and she loved it immediately. Obviously loved it too much to have the same shaped ring replaced.

Should have stuck with Haribo, at least I can eat them and replace them easily.

£10-50 to get it resized surely isn't the end of the world?

Should have stolen one of her other rings to get a better measurement

She don't wear ANY ring. This is probably her first.

The money isn't the issue, it's the risk of damaging the ring during the size reduction, which I assume means cutting and joining. It's only white gold, so not a specialist jobby, thus a typical quote is around that ball park.
