Lost 2 cats to car accidents and one was shot with a .22 rifle but survived. Our youngest cat winston is a house cat.

There's a very busy main road near where I lived as a child. When we first moved there, we lost nearly all our pets to that road. We lost our dog, two cats and a goldfish.

I'm guessing the goldfish wasn't exactly the goldfish's fault?

Question cat people/legal eagles: Cats are a menace to wildlife and other people's gardens, they regularly kill birds for fun and leave the remains about the place. If I buy a stoat or other small predatory animal with a taste for cats, can I be prosecuted by grieving former cat owners?
