**** The Official Google Nexus 6P Thread ****

If the phone supports it, it should just use it as it's all hardware support based from what I read.

Why wouldn't it be? It's just been rehosted on YT, it was originally posted on G+ I posted earlier.

Justa heads up, the bundled Type-C to USB cable supplied only supports the USB 2.0 standard, not USB 3. So if you want to make use of USB 3 speeds when transferring data, you will need to buy a Type-C to USB cable that is specced for USB 3 speeds. Luckily the spare cables I bought off eBay yesterday do state USB 3/3.1 so all safe.

Anyone reckon carphonewarehouse will massively undercut the Google Play Store?

It looks like they are doing US price + VAT conversion. £399 perhaps?

Doesn't matter the Nexus only supports USB 2.0. The Google Nexus Team answered this...

Q: Does the Nexus 5X have USB 3.1?

Nope! Nexus 5X and Nexus 6P supports USB 2.0

Why it has no Wireless Charging
We added Qi wireless charging starting with N4 because plugging in USB micro B was such a hassle! (Which way is up!?) With this year’s Nexii, we support USB Type-C which has a reversible connector so there’s no more guessing. AND it charges incredibly swiftly: 1% to 100% in 97 mins on the 6P for example (the first ~45 mins of charging is especially fast). Meanwhile, wireless charging adds z (thickness). So, ease of plugging in + fast charging + optimizing for thinness made us double down on Type-C instead of wireless!

What are people's experiences with them? It's ages since I bought a phone in a shop.
I bought a number of phones from CPW and never had a problem. all were online orders with store pickup though, never walked in and bought.

Dealt with 1 return, was smooth, no hassle.

Just came back here to post the AMA too about USB 2.0, damn that's a shame.

I don't understand the fast charging though, one comment says its not using QC 2.0 but instead utilising USB-PD which is part of this Tyoe-C standard. No clarification then on whether an existing QC 2.0 charger will provide fast charging or if you simply must use an OEM charger or one specifically made for Type-C for fast charging.

They confirm just over 90 mins from 0 to 100%, the first 45mins are the fastest.

Anyone make heads or tales of that?
