Whats the quickest way to get Glimmer? I've got a few items that need levelling up but not enough glimmer!

Use the consumables that grant you bonus Glimmer for killing certain types of enemies as much as you can. Team them up with the Strikes playlist and it'll soon add up surprisingly quickly! It's what I did, and seemed the easiest way of doing things.
 
Hit level 285 last night, got a rather basic looking scout rifle blue drop which is 284, so are all the ones i can buy with marks a bit pointless now? (They are 280) not really sure what i should spend marks on or now if its more about getting better drops etc?

What is my next stage, not tried nightfall yet and only just started heroic strikes at light 265ish

Best bet now is to buy the best legendary gear at 280 then infuse it with blues to get them up to high 290s.
 
Oh my...trials matchmaking will now match people based on current passage wins....the lighthouse is going to be HARD to get to. I like it :)

Glad the Iron Banner rank grind is gone for gear.
 
I have no rep with them :( went with future war but have since changed over but that will take ages right? Maybe xur will have one lol

Get your gunsmith ranked up too. I got a 292 legendary omolon hand cannon from a level up package....and have tons of other 280 legendaries from packages. Great thing is you get a choice of perks when you rank up.

You can hand in motes of light, materials or special/heavy ammo to get faction rep. Spending strange coins on heavy ammo and handing the ammo in for rep is particularly good value compared to any other method

I have way over 25k glimmer and nothing to spend it on.

I'm finding the same, so I just buy special ammo and such from the gunsmith so that I don't reach the cap.

It would be nice if the engrams from the cryptarch were sold for glimmer(5k+) instead of marks, that way you could have a chance at some potentially useful gear.

Davey_Pitch's suggestion is good but I would only consider buying a weapon type I actually want and there are no handcannons for sale :p

Potential match completion rewards now include both weapons and armor, matching the same items available from Lord Saladin during each event.

Drop rates have been increased and are intended to be the primary source of rewards from Iron Banner. If you don't get what you're hoping for, you have the option to visit Lord Saladin instead.

All new bounties including 9 Daily bounties (3 per day) and 3 new Weekly bounties which reward Legendary Marks.

Seems fine. If you're playing IB week you're on several days so you can crank out the daily crucible as well, only takes a few minutes.
 
When I read the first trials changes....which encourage people to carry on playing after they have completed their (flawless) passage, I was a bit put off....you're going to have pro teams playing far more....

But then the matchmaking changes...really pleased with that. It's not a proper ranking system but should do the job, give poor players a chance to not be stomped into the ground 0-3 every time, and give a proper challenge to the best players.
