I am getting on a bit and for the last 3 months I have been working at Tesco with a nice steady job on the tills. The work is manageable and despite some of the younger members of staff teasing me, I like it and it gets me out of the house and supplements my pension.

But yesterday the store manager called me in to the office and informed me that my till was down £10 and this wasn't the first time. I am on my final warning and for the life of me I don't know how this happened as I am usually so careful, but I am getting on a bit.

I am devastated as I don't want to loose my job.

What can I do ?

I know you are getting on a bit - but c'mon...
you won't LOOSE your job however you might LOSE your job

sounds like whoever got the free £10, had too much time on their hands and went back to report it (wish my life was so simple).

I'd find him and make sure £10 was the least of his worries

;)

Customers these days, thoughtless creatures who roll up the cash-back they get in their receipt, trusting that they got the right amount leaving the till operator to take the rap, the irony........

Loose..................? resign before they sack you :p
