Oktoberfest London - Cancelled after 1 night

this is terrible, how did this event get so many people attending for such high prices?

The capital of emperors new clothes is That London. It's a great city with some great stuff, but it's also a place of real crap portrayed as really good and this seems to be one such event.

Why is this event so high priced? Ridiculous

I wouldn't even bother the thought of spending 500 on that even if it was good would be mad

Yea same...where were these people thinking the value was? What were they getting for their money?

Sounded like a load of hipster staged crap to begin with. For the money they were asking you'd be better off going to the real oktoberfest.

The event cost a tenner I believe. It's all the other costs that add up to £500.

£10 for entry or a table for 10 for £600 so basically £50 each to have a table to sit at. Another £40 each for unlimited beer and food which is why you see £1000 mentioned.

However you need to drink a lot to get your £40 worth and £50 for a seat is a joke.

It's nothing to do with hipsters and there's nothing wrong with a properly organised event, not everyone has the time to go to Germany for a few beers. It's just this event that's a shambles.

Yeah, we did the £60 per person as it was a guaranteed seat at a table which meant a guaranteed entrance. It also came with free booze (both good drinkers so important :D) and a meal included. The biggest cost was the day off work followed by the hotel and travel so £250 each.

We have always wanted to do Munich but the cost is much higher for a weekend.

£40 for unlimited food and drink is pretty good in London. Assuming you get the food and drink! :p

I've just got back from the beer festival in Stuttgart (only the one in Munich is called Oktoberfest) and I spent a grand total of £400 for 4 days. It is the second largest beer festival in the world behind Oktoberfest in Munich. I would highly recommend going to the real thing. Silly overpriced UK attraction.

The tents were 32 euros for: 3l of beer, half a chicken, and a table to sit at, bargin.

You could go to fleet street and visit that very old pub Cheshire cheese worth going for a few pints to take a look, then moving on or having lunch there. Few more around there that are ok. Probably go to Covent garden after? Go to pubs there for the night? Not sure ale, lager drinker myself. Or you could head up to camden?

Sounded like like total scam. Such a shame people travelled up to London for it.
