its too cold

I don't look forward to my months living next to a heater. I much prefer shorts and tshirt and fans or aircon if too hot. Because it is a cold climate it doesn't cater for the benefits of warm climates. Tile floors, blinds, single glazing windows, swimming pools, ceiling fans. Instead we have thick carpets, thick dark curtains, heating built in to the plumbing and double glazing.

Never understood this logic. I'd far rather go out on a hot day and actually do things. When it gets cold I don't see the point in leaving the house.

See i'm the opposite, i hate working outdoors in the heat, sweating till yer clothes stick to you, sunburn. In the cold you can work hard all day and if you overheat just drop a layer and continue, in the warm there's only so much you can drop before being done for public indecency.

I guess people's internal thermostats must be different, you do seem to get summer folk and winter folk.

I had my first 4 degree warning when I drove off this morning. Under no circumstances is the heating coming on before November!

it was 2C when got up this morning -outside that was.

Had log burner lit most nights now for a month -:cool:

+1 for heated car seats - next best thing to heated windscreen.

Just moved into a new house built in the 60`s from a old Victorian house, had the heating on for half a hr and i am walking around in my pants. The old place i would have had 2 layers on and hat even with the heating on.

I hope its a really bad winter so the ex`s heating bills are massive, thank god she bought me out :)

Had to ride into work at 7am this morning as had no insurance on car as it ran out today. Was fairly chilly let alone with the wind chill factor at 60mph. Needless to say the car is now insured again and I will be driving into work tomorrow with the heaters on :)

I could swap for morning temperature that any day.

You'd think that (and I did). But it's not a gradual build up of heat like you'd experience perhaps in European summer time, as soon as that Sun pops out so does the wall of heat, between ~7am and ~10am the temps almost double its intense.

Can't complain too much though, spent the day watching alligators in the wild while getting a mean tan and a wonderfully red kneck :D
