mazda 3 - mps body parts fit not mps?

Lowering my 6 made a vast improvement :)
Buy el cheapo rubbish from eBay and perhaps see cack ride quality.
I went with Bilstein shortened shocks and H&R Springs, so much nicer to drive :)

Now I've got a new 6 Im thinking of fully adjustable coilovers, set them a shade higher than the previous setup so I dont need to get my arches rolled for my new wheels.

What about satin black for the wheels? Should only setup you back around 100 for a set of RX8's too :)

It's your car,if you liek it and plan on keeping it a while you may as well make a few changes :)

Whilst I do drive a gas guzzling V6 I'm hardly in a position to preach, but I disagree with DPF removal owing to just how much crap is spewed out of diesel cars.

This. Also, I own an MPS and get 30-32mpg on the motorway. 22-25 round town. If you want to modify a car, start off with the better platform and just get the MPS.

That is assuming the OP doesn't specifically require the diesel.

I actually agree that the DPF removal probably a bad idea. And I am at the stage where any performance mods beyond a remap and I would agree with you.

But cosmetic mods are a different story. Why shouldn't the OP have HIS car looking how HE wants? There is no need for him to "upgrade" to a MPS when he is happy enough with his car other than the wheels, a panel and a spoiler. It's not like he's planning a race spec diesel here.

OP, I say crack on, and don't listen to anyone trying to put you off doing what you want to do.

Main reson for dpf delete is that the regens really suck fuel.
Also when it fails or I stop car before it ends it dumps the diesel into the oil sump! Mental.
just safer for the car to stop it doing that.
no different than someone decating I suppose.

I'm waiting for some replies on mazda forums about the bonnet and if it fits.

Yes. Do this.

embrace your inner barry boy. Ignore the nay sayers. Do what you want and ignore reason. It's all about what you want.

I'd guess MPG, but thats something you don't really look at higher performance cars and think ooh MPG :p

Diagro, check amazon for Springs, my H&R ones were dirt cheap on there :)

I've seen a coupel of MPSalikes on gumtree so Im pretty sure the panels fit

It will just end up being a diesel with a remap in the end. It wont handle or drive like a proper hot hatch. Plus it will probably devalue the car.

At 12k miles a year, diesel saves about £500 a year.

A remap and DPF REMOVAL (not ******* "delete") will easily be £500 so you're not saving anything in year one. A bonnet and spoiler will probably be more than that to buy and paint so your year 2 savings have gone. A set of alloys and tyres... nope, no saving in year 3 now either.

Why not just buy the MPS in the first place then?

Your missing the point.
You dont remove the DPF, as that's a MOT fail. You gut them and then delete the software that runs them (hence Delete).

I like how a Diesel drives, Never been a fan of revhappy petrol engines.
When in my clio it made me unhappy going over 6k... Was worried it would blow up. lol

I like to tinker with my possessions. My PC needs no upgrades so why not play with the car?

Just read that its not just a bonnet :( Needs the front bumper too as there is a slight curve at the front.
That throws a spanner in the works as a bumper change is a little more in depth than I was looking to go.

I know how a DPF is removed, but delete is still a stupid "scene" term

A large turbo petrol isnt rev happy - you can use the revs if you want to. My 2.0 turbo petrol pulls harder than a 2.0 diesel from idle, can pull away in third etc... all the tricks that diesel owners love to show you when talking about torques and mpgz

Exactly! And I bet far more will break on the diesel aswell like injectors etc as that always seems to happen and the clutch will be under more strain with the remap. Although who ever told OP that he will go from 185bhp to 245bhp with a single remap is lying anyway.
People just don't realise all this. They think they can just buy a diesel and then just turn it into a performance car like the MPS. The whole set up of the car is different.

Plus a 2 litre diesel Mazda3 is nothing like as nice to drive as a petrol MPS and bragging about high torque figures down the pub gets old quite quick once you realise nobody cares anyway and how it drives is what matters.

Just the remap it looking at 230Bhp. The Intake and exhaust mods should see further gains.
As i said in the OP.

By intake and exhaust mods, do you mean an uprated turbo, as that's the only way you'll see the originally stated 245bhp.

Most mapping companys over advertise the gains to sell there maps. They don't supply a rolling road print out as proof, so it's easy to get aways with i guess.

Superchips advertise 207bhp from there map, which is much more realistic.

That's a shockingly low result.
Local company who offer these remaps and dpf deletes has shown me a print out of a Mazda3 2.2d 185 that had been done. showed 233.2Bhp. Started at 191.
