Age old Question - Which order to watch Star Wars!

Me and the wife are planning to watch all 6 Star Wars films over the next few days...but cannot decide which order to watch them in

Do we go 4-5-6-1-2-3 OR 1-2-3-4-5-6 OR after some searching around google, go with a more "flashback" order OR something completely different?

Eps 456-123 makes more sense, because that's the order in which you're supposed to find out about things.

You should watch in Machete order as it works best for the flow of the story.

Why did he release 4, 5 and 6 first then if he wants us to start from 1? :confused:

Anyway, I always go 4-5-6-1-2-3, or just 4-5-6.

Because he knew Ep4 was a strong movie on its own - he's always said that. He didn't have the luxury of building the story up from the start because, at that point, it was a very risky movie and he wanted the biggest chance of success.

Anyhow, I would just pretend 1,2,3 didn't exist. Have a Clone Wars marathon instead

That actually makes quite a lot of sense, although watching it with the kids I will probably amend it to 4-5-1-2-3-6.

Despecialized edition looks interesting as well, be good to rewatch it in similar a way to how I first saw it (80's VHS version)

If you or your wife haven't seen them then machete order of 4 5 2 3 6.

If you both have them simple 4 5 6.

Watched the despec version of Star Wars recently. It was great to see the film again, as it was when I was younger; before Lucas mutilated it into something else.

When I got the complete saga set a yew years ago, the Mrs had never seen any of them before so we watched it 1-6.

Was pretty awesome to be fair when Anakin turned and Palpatine named him Vader-the Mrs said "wait a minute, Vaders a bad guy...." Literally had no clue.

I don't mind the prequels as much as the rest of the world it seems.

My wife has not seen Star Wars for years and doesn't have a good knowledge, there is no way on earth I am subjecting her to I, II, III. I don't believe there will be any need to see the prequels to fully understand the new film.

Harmy's Despecialized IV, V, VI is what we will be watching in the run up. If you don't know what this is please google it.
