Maybe we were more civilized round my way we used old style aluminium tent legs with one end bent 90 deg and a hole drilled in the side. Then stand at each side of a field or large garden and fire Mini rockets at each other. We were stupid as kids! fun though.

I danced the firework devil for many teenage years and not once did someone get a roman candle in the head whilst aiming for the head.

If there are 10 million fireworks going off, some poor sod is going to get one in the head no matter what, then they go on Thats life play the fireworks are evil yada yada and kill it for everyone else.

Umm yes I could moan about the appending Armageddon round our way as soon as morrisons start selling them cheap.

But I remember being a towrag when I was younger... airbomb 5 shot repeaters were the weapon of choice. Even when it was off season, me and my mates were building cap bangers and allsorts with the chemistry kit

Firework wars look awesome, and with the attitude to health and safey being observed and everyone taking part its fine.

Of course here you've always got the one who complains at any device louder than 40db being used within 20 miles of his current location, and on the flip side the guy who'd bring a "firework" that would put a v2 to shame.
