Its that time of year again when i get asked by all my family what i want for christmas.

They know im interested in Pc's and gaming and technology in general and usually i know what i want and ask them to collectivly buy me a big present. This is the first year however that i just dont know what i want and finding myself searching the web for "gift ideas for men". Unfortunatly i really dont enjoy suprises and most "non needed" gifts find them selves being used for a while then i find them 6 months later again and its just a bit of a waste

So I thought id put it to GD where do you look for gift ideas if you dont know what you want?

I agree. I'd rather buy one present I'd use that have a load of junk. I ask my immediate family to club together and buy what I'd buy with the combined money. They are used to it now.

Last year I bought a watch which should last 10 years as I wear it daily. This year I want an uzi.

Im working in tottenham at the moment so can probably help you out lol.

Im trying to avoid asking for money as they like to buy me something.

Ugh, this.

Every year, same conversation.

Mother "What do you want - Just little things that don't cost much"

Me "I really don't want anything - I would rather people didn't waste money on junk stuff that I don't want or need and will end up giving away or chucking - £5 Amazons voucher which I can then pool for something bigger when I am ready would be great"

Mother " [huff puff moan groan] well you need to think of something!!"

Me "Amazon Vouchers. Or just save the money as I really don't mind not getting anything"

Xmas day = Toiletries that I don't like and end up sending to charity shop. Socks. Endless boxes of shortcake which I don't want.

One of the reasons I despise xmas. Always ends up in me getting moaned at, but then never actually ending up with the Amazon vouchers - In fact last year my Amazon voucher tally totaled £0 despite repeated pleas of not wanting the usual things that I don't want.

For me, I tend to get silly amounts of Wine Gums.

I must have liked them as a kid, but I end up getting at least 10 boxes a year... I'd rather people get something... anything else.

I find Amazon wishlist very handy. Family will usually pick items from there, then throw a in few surprises to boot :-) Then get the usual chocolate / small bottles of fizz / beer that everyone else gets as well.
