The EU Migrant Crisis

It is astonishing that these Muslims hordes head for the countries of the Infidel rather than some Islamic paradise - perhaps they want to convert to Christianity?

Always find this puzzling myself, why are Muslims always looking to the West, the modern world which they condemn and decry? Why don't they work to resolve the issues in the Islamic world and societies, advance their own nations instead of running away to Christian lands begging for welfare.

Then the icing on the cake is these people who run away from their unstable ****hole Islamic countries want to bring Islam with them, which was the the very thing that created the oppresive regimes they ran away from in the first place. LOL

Tony Abbott should be EU Commissioner for Migration:

Delivering the Margaret Thatcher lecture at Guildhall last night, he claimed that those fleeing the Middle East were economic migrants and not trying to escape persecution by the time they reached Europe.

“Our moral obligation is to receive people fleeing for their lives. It’s not to provide permanent residency to anyone and everyone who would rather live in a prosperous western country,” he said. “This means turning boats around, for people coming by sea. It means denying entry at the border for people with no legal right to come, and it means establishing camps for people who currently have nowhere to go.

“It will require some force, it will require massive logistics and expense, it will gnaw at our consciences — yet it is the only way to prevent a tide of humanity surging through Europe and quite possibly changing it for ever.”

Dump migrants in "processing" camps where they don't have access to medical or legal aid? The situation on Nauru is utterly grim.

And what legal right did Tony Abbot's ancestors have to come to Australia? What a hypocrite.

The cold hard reality is, that western nations cannot afford to support all the other nations of the world and their unhappy citizens.

I'm sure billions globally would like to leave their countries of birth and come to the west, for a better life. Literally, billions.

Australia is simply saying "Sorry mate, we're putting ourselves first." Like most western nations have for decades.

If you want to open the floodgates, and let all the people from 3rd world countries make the west their new home, then be prepared for the west to become a 3rd world region too.

Maybe because Tony Abbot's ancestors went to Australia, took it over and inflicted terrible suffering on the indigenous population, we should be a bit more careful about who we let into our country and how many of them.

Australia is a sparsely populated country that could handle a significant amount of immigration. Australia is hardly a welfare state (most kids even go to private schools) so it's not like these new-comers would have been a massive burden on the system. To round up immigrants and leave them in camps with barely enough food and open to regular abuse by the staff shows a complete lack of humanity.

And create unmanageable ghettos, no thanks. Stay classy Australia.

There's a good reason for Australia being "sparsely populated'. Most of it is uninhabitable. or just plain nasty most of the year.

that article needs to sort itself out

Upper Austria with 157,000 firearms is only the third-ranked state for firearms. No 1 is Upper Austria; its 250,000 weapons have 66,000 owners, the report says.

Austria was already the most armed country in Europe. Arms retailers report it is noticeable that many women are buying firearms. Austrian households have more than 900,000 weapons. The country's population is 8.5 million, the report said.

eh?

Please stop remarking that x country was created by y immigrants, that was the state of a much more progressive period of social evolution.

Just because we had the balls to advance enough to achieve colonisation in the first place, doesn't mean we should just pack the bags because we are morally obligated... By some false sense of liberal guilt.

We are only obligated to protect ourselves, that means telling the world to get lost until it matures from killing anyone not religious and throwing acid in a woman's face for having her own mind.

Suddenly the US second amendment doesn't seem so archaic. Must admit, if I were allowed to I'd have bought a firearm for home defence recently. I think in this period of great uncertainty and threat there's a growing case for allowing certain people to possess and even carry firearms on our streets. Note for the hysterical - I'm not advocating a US-style free-for-all.
