Dead Motherboard ?

Hi Guys

Having a problem with my Gigabyte Z68AP-D3. It was fine last night when I went to bed but to day it wont boot up. All it does is spin the fans for a few seconds and shut down. Tried taking all the stuff out of it and just left it with one stick of memory and a hard drive and its still doing the same. Is this my board or CPU that has gone.

Could be the PSU. Google th 'paperclip test' and try that.

Thanks for that. I should have said i did try another PSU and it did the same thing. Could it be a power button problem on the front of the case ?

You can use a screwdriver on the motherboard header to rule of the power switch.

clear the cmos aswell,leave out mb battery for few minutes
